I can't wait to start these! I've done a half marathon but didn't really train seriously for it but getting on the band wagon now training for a 10k in about 3 weeks (livepool womens 10k- anyone else doing it?) and a half marathon and marathon in the near future so really need to get out running in the fresh air instead of the comfort of the tredmill .
Do you get many people turning up for them? I'm back in liverpool start of may with a week untill the 10k so think my first will be the week after 10k or maybe the day before it but that might be a silly idea...?
At the minute we get around 50 turning up, but we have over two hundred registered to the Liverpool parkrun so over the coming weeks & months we expect the numbers to grow quickly.
Depending on how much running you do a slow paced 5k the day before your 10k race is not so silly
Of course if you did not want to run the day before your 10k we are always happy to have people volunteer to help out on the day.
I am moving to Liverpool in September from Cardiff. I was very glad to see there is a parkrun in Liverpool as it's pretty much the heart and soul of club running here with attendances on a fast course of 200-250 on a fairly regular basis! Well done for getting this up and running and see you in September!
Thanks to all the organisers/volunteers for putting this on. Finally getting back into running after a few years after a knee op.
A mate of mine (runs the Richmond, London one) made me aware of this the other week and I'll attempt to run it regularly. I've put word out and a few mates have signed up an all.
Great atmosphere at the parkrun today - managed to beat the carrot and the pineapple, just. Very hot this morning even at 9am. Loved the cake and drink afterwards, many thanks.

Looking forward to see you at the next Liverpool parkrun Andy, we promise not to knick the hubs caps off your car.
In the words of the film - If you build it they will come.
Or you could come to Black Park - we regularly get runners from Watford Joggers.
Where is Black Park???
