Went to first post natal exercise class at the hozzie today. Every new mum can have 10 sessions. Really enjoyed it. Basically 15 min aerobic warm up, 25 mins on the cv equipement and 20 mins mat work. The highlight was ny first r*n in a year!!! 10 mins on the dreadmill
Great news Samster! Especially the bit about not weeing yourself, that's always a good sign.
It is the return of Garrow's Law tonight. A programme I always find depressing, despite the presence of Rupert Graves. Raffles likes it though, so I shall have no excuse to avoid doing my course work while it is on. Unless I can find someting in the next few hours
lol Yeo and thanks all, it was great to be running again. For the moment I am going to concentrate on exercising 3 times per week: Buggy circuit training on Wed, Post Natal Exercise Class on Thurs and a r*n on Sunday plus I'll make sure I get out walking as many days as possible. Then after xmas, I'll introduce a second and maybe a third run and begin working towards a spring 10k. That's the plan.
Hello, I'm new (and slightly bored at work on a Friday evening)!
So I'm guessing this is place to share training etc. I'm slowly gearing up for my first 5k after starting running about a month ago & looking for virtual training buddies!
So this week:
Monday, core ball. dance class, 2k treadmill
Wednesday my first ever circuits class (made running seem easy!)
Thursday Cardio Kick class - not done this in a while and managed a higher intensiity than I remembered
Plan for the weekend Saturday: Wk 4 of Couch to 5k (NHS) (30mins run/walk intervals) Sunday: Wk5 (pt1) C25K
Yes, we share training on here but also indulge in long chats about nothign in particular and generally increas the smut and irreverance level of the forum. Feel free to join in!
That's a busy week on the exercise front. What's Cardio Kick? Anything like Body Combat?
Cardio Kick is a bit like an aerobics class with punching and kicking in the routine. And built in are intervals of press-ups, lunges, fast jab punches, sprints etc. And it's a 60 min class so always a bit of a challenge.
This week plan is kinda similar, but ends with the third run of wk 5 C25K which is a 20 min run with no walking - looking forward to smashing that.
Been thinking of you a lot lately but never seem to remember to post when online - whoops :-/
Ummm, my update - baby in my picture is now Miss 4, and I have added Master 1.5.
Not plodding, in fact haven't been exercising consistently since Master 1.5 arrived, and I **need** to, trying to get back in pilates at home as starting point
Crappy year here, if I told you in one go it reads like Soap Opera Script, so I'll just give you this link which gives part of the story -- http://twitter.com/#!/Louella_Cooper
Awful news for you, so I will break my rule and say (((((((LJ and family)))))))) I hope you are better soon and can get on with enjoying life with your hubby and little ones.
I've only briefly skimmed though so far, how awful for you and your family. Fab news about the little ones though
I'm now living near my family in Staffs, and we lost our Aged M earlier in the year, but apart from that I'm still DHHing and sniging like mad. Not plodding though
Horrible news for you and the family. Hope all the treatment works.
I was involved in a 5 car crash this evening. I'm basically OK but my car isn't. I haven't plodded since I broke and dislocated my ankle almost 2 years ago.
Lovely night out at Diner's Delight last night with shop people - it's a greasy spoon by day and does Turkish at night for half the week - including a belly dancer. And yes - I did get up and have a go

Wooohoooo! First proper r*n since baby was born 1.5 miles! Not a lot, but it's a start.
Nothing prolapsed.

yeah - anything to alleviate a dull workday
