Local, not overpriced, and doesn't clash with this LDWA 100 I seem to have in my diary for jubilee weekend. Not fully commited yet (but have paid) Can't make my mind up if it will wreck my training preventing a fast Ironman, wreck my body preventing an Ironman, or wreck everything.
Trouble is it will be the most local LDWA 100 for some time so it will be my best chance. I will know lots of the route as it uses the North Downs Way for a chunk and as it is local I can easily do recce runs as part of normal training. So if I want to do one then maybe this is the year.
nice muddy 2 1/2 hours of hills on the mountain bike with Cornish Digger and a couple of other Outlaw trainees really nice session, back to work tommorow so a visit to the pool will be in order
Suppose I had better start some training then as well. 9 mile tempo run last night, lunch time swim and then an interval run session with the club tonight.
This week is already a write-off, though I will see what I can salvage.
Swam 2300m of Fink#36 yesterday (missed 200m of DR). Stuck in Frankfurt overnight without bags so no running. If I get to Italy the hotel doesn't have a gym (stupid stupid stupid) so no bike for me. May run some more.
Will investigate pool options for Thur, then home Friday.
Only had about 3 hours of sleep on Monday night / Tuesday morning and it's catching up to me. Forgot what training twice in a day and on consecutive days did to you when already tired!
Before Christmas it was all bonhomie and cakes and love ins and expanding waistlines....
Now it's got horribly serious and full of training and people being scarily impressive with what they're doing already................
I am feeling a little bit inadequate! 40 min run sessions for me at the moment and haven't ridden my bike properly (just 45 min turbo sessions) for weeks now. Slowly slowly catchee monkey I hope!
Comments
Christmas pool closures didn't really affect me as I was sidelined with whiplash and then a cold so couldn't swim anyway.
I think sessions start tomorrow but I'm waiting until Wednesday, get back in to it with an easier session.
Now two questions for me.
Where should I stay?
What Half Ironman should do given I'm doing Brighton on 15th April as my years A race and the Outlaw as my second biggest race of the season.

Great thanks.

Oh how I miss it
Evening.
1 hr run yesterday, 1 hr turbo today.
All steady.
1hr 10 mins steady run yesterday
1hr comute on bike today (very windy - and no I don't mean the effects of the christmas sprouts)
Longer comute home on bike tomorrow morning weather permitting
No swimming for over two weeks but a session planned for Friday

Any excuse to miss the turbo spin session
Dustboy - I read that as 2200 miles at first.
That would hurt!
Third day into training... and I feel like crap!

I HATE YOU ALL!!!
Sick and trying not to get sicker so taking it easy.
Missed the pool this morning as figured I'd cough up a lung. Hoping for some gentle running at lunchtime!
2800m swim for me last night and 3800m for LJS. Turbo, weights and core tonight for me.
I just entered an Oly which finishes up 70 stadium steps and I don't even know if I'm going to be able to run again by then! How mad's that?
Crumbs what happened to the thread?
