Stll twiddling my thumbs waiting for mine. Says received on the 17th (posted on 1st) and ongoing. Guess I will just have to be patient. I'm rubbish at being patient.
A colleague who didn't send theirs off until mid-December has just had an email to say theirs has been dispatched. I am feeling a little Apple neglect here.
I dont think there are too many for them Len2 as it has the belt clip on the back unlike the old version 1's we sent back. I've had mine clipped on my shorts and ron hills with no probs
I'm loving mine and I was a bit nostalgic about the old one too. Not anymore!!
Can anyone who's swapped and been for a run with the new one let us know how easy it is to navigate by touch?
I've had my old Nano since 2005 and run something like 5,000 miles with it on my arm, and so out of my eyeline, without a problem.
What I like about it (and dislike about the iPod Touch) is that, with the touchwheel, I can easily skip or repeat a track without havinh to see what I'm doing.
I quite like the idea of getting something new for free, but not if it's going to be less user-friendly.
4 MS , I really like it, I use a Casio watch that allows me to skip tracks, pause and change the volume ! Cost about £50, not sure if you can still buy them though !
More storage in terms of tracks and really like the radio pause function. My nano 1 was losing charge after a few hours, the new one last for about 10 hours! All in all the new 6 gen is loads better .
It's also just occurred to me that with the new version I could use the volume, pause and skip controls on the Apple earbuds - which do not work with the Gen 1 version Im using now.
Now I just have to decide whether I want to go six weeks of maraton training with no iPod.
i got a brand new nano after 6 weeks. I have to say its not that easy to control / navigated when you're flat out on a treadmill. Still gift horses and all that.....
Sent my old nano off four weeks ago and now have a shiny new 8th gen nano with double the memory! I'm about to go out on a run with it now! Thanks for posting the link on rw! It's not often you get something better for free!
Found this via random google search, and I have a gen 1 that I had from 2007 when I originally started running and switched it to a gen 5 or 7 (the last long and thin one with actual buttons) which I still use. Gen 1 had been sat in a drawer but will now be getting traded for the new one.
Question though, how easy is it to operate a touch screen on your arm band whilst running? With my nike armband I can reach and feel the actual buttons for changing track and pause, but with the little tiny touch screen, will it get fiddly? Will I hit pause instead of next track?! Or will the newer headphones let me pause or cycle tracks (Pause is important for the end of a run or crossing a road...using nike+)
I ran with an iphone using the nike app once and it was a nightmare, had to keep looking down and around to see what I was pressing.
Failing that, I'll just wear the new one as a watch.... Its free so cant moan

6 week wait? The treadmill's going to get boring - Did one run with the iPhone, but it's a big ol' lump.
Awesome
