Saw a couple in the kit at Sherwood Pines yesterday - stocky guy in long sleeve bike top and slightly older chap with a black top and yellow skull and cross bones. Might have been doing the Rat Run night run - presume it's someone on here ?
how..?? I was the hypothermic pirate tarting myself around in my shiny new pirate jacket. The evans ride started at a balmy 7 degrees at about 9:30 and was down to 2 degrees 4 hrs later. I was in autumn kit and started getting really cold as the missus did a v02 max test - she was lovely and warm
ride home was miserable, (even though we took the train half way.)
Liked the joe beer (or what ever his name is) 'how to cycle 5% faster'..........
1. push the pedals down harder!!! - genius! spinning is a waste of time aparently
2. do lots of base - 80% of all training at 80% max of hr, (ie 145 max)
3. do 2 (maybe 3) sessions max of high intensity stuff a week - ie 2 * 45 mins, ie bike intervals
4 do big gear work on the bike / long gentle hills

Cheers for saying stocking instead of a lard arse. Also Supercaz, Tom Millwall and sarah the bookworm there, as well as a few very nice girls and boys off the threads. Did see a lad stareing at us while he was parking his roadie near the cafe and almost said hello but was on a bacon mission. Next time heckled us and we will introduce you to plum the tri sex god.

I was on a MTB looking particularly scruffy with 10 year old daughter on her bike .
The best pirate spot has to be last week cycling at the lava fields in Lanzaorte and another pirate went past the other way. We were not sure who it was going the other direction to the group as could not hear much as very windy.

Henny and Purple were there...although i reckon they spent more time wine tasting looking at the photos.

They were both in the same cycle group as me when the other pirate went past in the opposite direction.
There was a young pirate at Liverpool half on Sunday wearing a black long sleeved top and there gillet on top. Was to far away gassing the LB to skip up to them and say hello anyone know who it was. Was keeping an eye out for muffin top so not sure if it was them or not.
The pirate at liverpool half was me.I passed muffin going up the hill not far in and gave a cheery hello.Got a few shouts of encouragement which helped me along. My first pirate top outing
