I hope he gets better soon Dannir - thinking of you all.
Take it easy on the running.......good luck.
Silly Billy - ha ha - I'm sure Antwerp will find you some marshmallows if you post something on FB
I'm carbing for all you London Runners (and supporters) had leftover pasta (made way too much last night...nomnom) now I'm stuffed and I've already run today.
I want to see this Colin you are all on about????!!!
Was greetin......(love it) myself, himindoors was hovering and I said that some of the RW's were running in London and some going to support....he said ................
"Surprised you've not looked at flights....."
I now have.................OUCH.....so it's not on sadly. Hey ho.
Oh Dan! It must be heart-wrenching to watch your child suffer. My heart goes out to you and Linda.
Dad and Brother have left her at the hospital. They say she's a little better and was happy to be left. Diagnosis is mild stroke but more tests tomorrow.
Simon: Thanks for the laugh. Keep it in the gutter, I say, that way I'm always looking up!
Dannirr... good heavens... what is going on right now with all these problems...? Sorry to hear this.... he is in the right place and he'll be looked after. Must be a worry though...
TP - so Colin is a 'stroke' specialist? What was he stroking when you fainted? He wouldn't tell me.
((Danirr)) I'm keeping everything crossed that your son recovers quickly. I can imagine how difficult it must be but at least he has his mum there now.
Am in awe and at amazement at how quickly this thread swings from the profound to the profane (not really) and back again. I suppose we should all be grateful it is capable of both rather than lots of mundane chat about training programmes and talk about what kind of sweat we have...
.... and I managed to get in a 45k bike ride this lunchtime. Went a bit too far in the direction the wind was blowing and had to work pretty darned hard to get back to the office. But that's a 1000 calories dealt with and I hit 95% HR on one of the most infamous hills around - really pushed hard. Feel good for that.
Dannirr - hope your son stabilises quickly. Pain that is greater than the effect of morphine is very ugly. Glad your mum is OK Mausey (relative term of course).
Dan- Thinking of you and Linda too, and I hope he gets better soon.
Glad my only cause for concern is my SIL's distinct lack of taste.............I would never advice men to choose handbags for anyone(unless their arch enemy) but in this case I wish my brother had choosen my pressie!! I will use it when I visit them in June though like the nice sister that I am!
Oh, and I too priced flights for this weekend since I have Saturday off, but luckily for my bank manager I can't get a flight back in time for work on Monday morning.............the joys of Island life!
I went to Boots at lunch and walked past some marshmallows on the way, and suddenly really wanted to eat them. It's only now, re-reading the fire and marshmallows conversation, I realise it was you lot using hypnotoad type powers of suggestion! Managed to avoid these and had good ol' fruit instead. With a chocomilk from the vending machine at work.
I'm a definite for Paris now i know it is on 13th. School hols so the family will be coming along. Whether they get out of bed and support is a different matter.
I give up. I've been trawling to try and find the post about where Tricky got his extendable pole. Can I find it? No I cannot.
TD would you mind reposting....in the vain hope I can get my hands on one before the weekend
The secrets of my magic flag pole have now been revealed. And I'm not going to say a word about MrsTD fainting, although once I did wonder if I should call an ambulance but my French or Dutch were inadequate to describe what had happened. The patient made a full recovery and sadly, seems to have become 'cured'
Salty sweat and non-salty sweat KeyserSuze. And probably something else that DV knows from parts of the Interweb I never visit.

For once in my life I actually don't know what to say to that
I have ordered a 6 foot pole. As opposed to the 5 foot 9 Pole to whom I am married....
"Mind you, they are dead easy and cheap to get hold of. 11GBP on Ebay etc - Brooklite 6m telescopic flagpole. Flags are about 7-8 GBP and lots of varity to be had. My flag was 150 x 90cms"
I know you've ordered one now but just for info in case the mood took you

1T - I too have sinned and eaten rather a lot cake. With no guarantee I won't eat more, I'm afraid.
I am very tempted to get on a plane to London too. Flights wouldn't be ridiculously expensive...

Dannirr - Best wishes to your lad for a speedy recovery. Although I'm sure after fighting off lions this will be nothing!

Please come. You can sleep on Radar Sal's floor with me...
Tricky I shall be cranking up my shonky old bike next week...I don't think I'll be hitting 95% HR though
Dannirr - hope your son is soon feeling very much better.
Paris Marathon is on 13th April 2014.
Just seen on their website.
The clocks already counting down.
Have a look on the Presentation page.
Some good news to cheer about.
MM, thinking of you and your Mum.
Dannirr, thinking of you and your family.

Jimbob - where did Pottermoss end up staying in Paris.?
360 days until Paris - aargh, I'm behind with my training

I don't know what you mean, DV...

Thanks Orbutt - you've clearly got more stamina than me
Poletastic! The support plan is formulating...
Police and FBI seem to be denying this at the moment. However, there is a press conference at 9pm UK time.
MM & Dannirr - hope your mother and son are ok. It's so difficult when family members are so far away.
The stories from Boston and other posts here are amazing - some very sad and others incredibly inspiring.
I've not seen Tricky's pole but I've heard it's very big.
Sorry to hear that Dan.
Rest day here, and the wine is flowing
Sorry, press conference is at 10pm UK time.
