Yes I came back with more americanisms, better than the Yehaw! I got in florida. It took me all weekend to get from rubbish to trash and pertol to gas but managed to Surge (power word of a certain soloist I managed to hold back all race long), very quickly.
The swim was hard considering I was used to salt water helping me out. The Canadian team swapped over each two laps (1300m) and I managed to stay neck and neck till the second last lap. I lost 2 mins in 1300m. Also remember both of them continued on to the bike and run. They made me work for that swim.
I missed the start of Lindi's bike as I was getting one of my many massages. But took over sherpa duties in the evening when Candy and Mel went 'around the corner' to ATM, which I might point out was 21 miles away. I was up all night with Mel while Candy slept, force feeding Lindi. Julian (crew from Richie another brit) joined us as we relocated our base forward. We each took turns for a sleep, (about an hour and a hald each). By morning Lindi was finished and fed up with peanut butter bagels.
Candy started running in the early hours of saturday and I will leave the rest to him, but we all got about another hours sleep that night, Lindi came back on duty that evening. I started crewing more for a soloist as his one man band crew sort of fell apart.
All I will say is if there are a couple of teams going next year then the crew can share more and make it easier on all. Massive amout of food and energy gunk eaten all weekend.
And '10' refers to where you are on the happy scale.
I can post Lindi's report when I get home. It's concise, to say the least.
With this double-speak from Melissa, I have to think she's doing a really nice job acting sane while in my presence. I'll send her to the loony bin this weekend to be checked out. She swears she has gotten some sleep, even.
Lindi is right- it's a great report when all she had to use was my magnetic poetry kit. Besides, her mental capacity probably wasn't up to making much more sense...
The triple isn't too hard to finish if you get lots of consistent time in the saddle & on your feet, Jo. You just need a couple of short sleeps, but otherwise be determined to just keep moving.
(Don't keep stopping every lap and showing Zuppy 'the hand', like one competitor did..!)
Well one I did derserve the hand as I told her to get off her ass and start moving. If you have time to stand around and chat with your crew then you should be moving. You sit in half sleep or sit while your being worked on, other than that you have to be in motion.
As for my dearest doing the triple, not really an option as there is no trailer park or gun range for me to disappear to.
haha, I think the way I am going I will be the only one at 64 stone, I have nothing planned for next year and as such I am 1, driving Kelly mad 2, deciding to give it up and play golf and 3, contemplating not playing golf and doing something daft instead, hence the small interest in this. I have also expressed an interest in the daft duathlon on a thread not too far away from here, will be cool to catch up with Smiffy again.
There will be no problem recruiting swimmers in virginia. The night Candy emailed looking for a swimmer, zuppy was at work but I was so sure he had no interest in doing it I called an open water swimming friend who is originally from the USA. He had 12 swimmers in Virginia lined up for me within the hour!

Congratulations to all involved.
Hope you are all recovering well.

Yeagermeister - I thought I did quite well considering the limited vocab on offer!
Good news - I can now wear my jeans and sit with my legs crossed - the wonder of savlon!
Hope to be back on a bike by the weekend

Wow Lindi, what a recovery!! Jeans too!!
Well added to that I feel wonderful, still not walking well or pain free but that should take awhile.
Surge baby surge
Can't do the double obviously - too gaylord. That's worse than a year of sprints and a year of olympics, innit?!
