WOW! Have finally been able to catch up - what a read!!!!
H- you star, good girl. Have a well deserved rest and come visit me soon.
And to whoever said that a word with Oxy cheered you up, I couldn't agree more. Oxy's cheering me on at IMCH last year was a huge support!!
Donald - well done on your PB
To Meldy, IW, RC and TB, feel gutted for your guys. RC sorry to hear about your knee.
To all the others, super congrats, Ditchy on her PB (yay, go girl!!!), Bassy (who really shouldn't retire til after Regensburg!!), Mr. Funkin on being so flippin fast and Melli, another speedy one, Pkim, Barley, well done EVERYONE!!!!!
Just caught up on some of the posts-been away all weekend. Massive congratulations to everyone that made it, and commiserations to those who didn't So gutted for you, because I know you all trained so hard. Huge hugs to you Tonka; I was really gunning for you mister. Get thee signed up for Regensburg and you can help me round next year
Podds - I'm taking 18 months to go from 0 > IM. Though I was considering signing up for an IM this year, I decided not to and it was fortunate as due to some neuro issues I was on the injury bench for 5/6 months. With the level of fitness I had before that, I'd have been err in a difficult spot. Though I wanted to go from 0-IM in 9 months, it wasn't right for me and I know next year is the better timing.
I was injured for 4/5 months after signing up for ironman............for me I think it worked ouit well because I would have got bored with the training thinking back if I had trained for 12 months............6 months was about right for me............
we are all different so you really have to have an honest look at yourself and your personal situation..........the time was right for me.........any of the years in the previous 15 would not have been right for me..........
there is always another Ironman.................don't not sign up because of silly worries and lack of faith..............but respect your true concerns and fears

And I would also say not to sign up because you feel that everyone else in your peer group is and you are feeling left out

So are you saying there should be no arm twisting??? Not even a little??
Where's the fun in that?
I am losing the will to live - thank god for whisky - none of us will remember this in the morning.
that's for licking Barley's thighs..........................
I'll do you a deal Ratbag - you can twist my arm for 2012 and in the unlikely event that you are anywhere near me I'd be honoured to train with you
Anything else dodgy we should know about BtS?
I'm so over the thighs.
*yawn*
* weeps quietly in the corner as, not only has the Queen of Roth got to touch The Thighs, but the IronMaidens are now in search of the Holy Grail *
And They were once my hidden treasure. Oh what monster have I spurned.
Schmunkee. Maybe it's time for you to get a little bit of help with this little...er... fascination.
There are programmes you know, groups that can help with this sort of....stuff.
the queen of Roth was down in that region a while..............maybe she was giving him some tips..........
maybe this ais a strange way of trying to persuade you to enter an ironman.you get to do so much more than just finish a race
