I really fancy coming down - where is everyone camping? I should read back. Train, bike and tent for the weekend - down on the Friday and back on Monday tea time so I can work on Tuesday.

There is a camp site at the venue, no need to book as far as I know unless you need electric hook up
Heh. When I was booking last night my wife told me to take the last double, so I'd have more space for my bike & the multitude of stuff I bring to these races. I couldn't bring myself to do it while pirate couples were slumming it under canvas - welcome debbo
I don't know about a supporters thread, they haven't confirmed the bike course yet so they won't officially know where the feed stations are until then.
I booked a family room in Travelodge for the Friday night as I'm driving over from N Ireland, but I have booked a tent pitch for Sat/Sun/Mon. I'm happy to share the room for the night if anyone is stuck.
I'd rather check out early on Saturday in order to set up camp and settle. I don't believe I'll give a toss where I sleep on Sunday night as long as I successfully get over the line and able to have a decent hot shower afterwards.
There was plenty of hot water in the showers at Holme Pierrepoint last year VT'd, but whether that's still the case after 1000 finishers in July remains to be seen. You could always jump back in the lake.
Think I may be better getting one of the cheap bed & breakfasts for myself and whoever i can rope in as a sherpa for sat - mon nights as carrying camping eqipment as well as racing equipment on the train could be a bit of a nightmare
also as I dont actually own any camping equipment it probably makes sense
In case anyone fancies topping up their inner tube collection, Evans are selling Specialized tubes at 50% off until tomorrow, don't worry there are still a few left after I bought my supplies for race day
Think I've found the latest list & have just added myself, wasn't going long in 2012 but I fancy a bit of a post race p*ss up and it wouldn't seem right to come along and drink without having put myself through some effort the day beforehand.
Not going to worry about accomodation seeing as I'm at a wedding in Surrey the day before, just need to get a suitably kind Southern based Pirate to transport my bike, register & rack on my behalf.......but we'll worry about that closer to the time too

Bliddy Hell Jaffa! You must like a p1ss up!! I'm Surrey based, but not sure if I'm travelling up from Surrey or Devon yet! Nearer the time we can sort something out though!
For anyone that's interested, Travelodge have a £10 sale on rooms and there are still availabilities on Family and Double rooms for Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd.

Think I might pop down and support.......
Nope, am doing Wokingham though. Anyone else in for that?
Yay Jaggy! Be good to see you again
I'll be camping, but will probably sleep in my van as it a lot more comfortable than the floor in a tent.
Sorry for not keeping up on here, but was wondering if all the relay teams aresorted now?
now, I've trawled back a few pages and can't find a supporter/feed station thread - is there one yet?
or what's the story - do I need to contact the Outlaw about officially volunteering?

Might book another room for Monday night.
LOL Dave. It's a very real possibility that at least a 1000 will have gone through the showers before I get a look in.
Thanks for the indirect kick up the arse, Debbo

Well I've booked a cheap B and B called Hylands - looks ok and plan to bike around to catch up with people
looking forward to watching and not racing!
Thank you Symes, I took a few of those little suckers as well
Hopefully I wont need as many as you normally do
i have seen the long range weather forecast for June/July, and its going to be 25 degrees and sunny.... no wind
at least thats what I told myself when biking home tonight in -2.........into a headwind as well
it wasn't a head wind - you just aren't as fit as you thought you were!
