Like a lot of people, if I have a race scheduled, it keeps me motivated to get out. Also, I have 4 kids, that's motivation enough for me to go for an LSR
Just a note to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a fit and healthy New Year. the support has been great this year and I look forward to doing it all again in 2012!!
Merry Christmas to all the folk on here...especially to Alan & all the team at RunLiverpool!! Thanks for a fab year of running events (& my first marathon) and all the best for 2012!!
Typical of Chester half marathons new organisers - you want to find out how much their half is you have to register to find out wtf and they are going to charge for parking on the race course this year.
Runliverpool its under the enter online button, dont think i'll be doing chester next year.
Chester lot are weird..! why bother with them... Lots of other halves nearby anyway.
Happy Christmas to all, I've had a wonderful year, doing the half and then the full marathon was a great experience, pushed me to do more, and with all round good results.
Here's to an even better 2012 and thanks to all the work Alan & team put in
Hey XD.. Have you been out for that run yet? 3 weeks and counting.
I've not done much.. Doing 20-30 a week
Hmmm Should I put a Santa hat on the cat?
I originally put Festive Rapping Cat as in play on Wrapping.. But then thought I might get some complaints off the RSPCA if someone dsylexic misread it .
Just festive for now, till I think of something else...
I've finally started again FRC....I'm still not feeling 100%, but I've managed at 5k (with Mrs XD) on Sunday, 10k on Monday and another 5k with Mrs XD last night. It's tough and frustrating how much you can slip back when you're ill or injured....but at least I'm getting back there!!
I'm looking for three contributions of editorial about the marathon, half marathon and Women's 10K events. Anyone interested please forward around 150 words to my email address which is on the www.runliverpool.org.uk site
I'm still hanging on in here (in the office) but will have to vacate in the next hour as the shop is closed and we have to get out!! Merry Christmas one and all... let's do it all again next year. xx
Considering doing the marathon next year, just concerned about the fact it only got 61% for PB potential (it's all about the time for me) compared to the 76% chester got - I did chester this year and wouldn't say it was too great for PB potential so if Liverpool is hillier, that will prob put me off.
Xabi,I'm injured too,not ran in over a week now, think it's the dreaded ITB Syndrome, so I've got all this shiny new gear for christmas and I can't run I'm looking at treatments and prophylaxis on the net now,if that doesn't help, then I'll fork out for proper treatment.
I'm desperate to start my hm training so happy new year to everyone and good training to all.

dean I wouldn't put to much into the % on reviews because it all depends on who's reviewing it and some I've seen have been slightly misleading to the extent that I've wondered if the person's doing the race had actually been there. I think Liverpool is hillier than Chester but not by much. If you want a flat and PB race I'd go for Abingdon marathon and not look at ever race but think this race is well worth a look in matie's it a good course and a excellent team behind it.

Hi Folks,
Been loitering for a bit. Really lost my running Mojo and need to get my motivation sorted to get out running.
Any tips for a severe case of CBA?

Best wishes to one and all.
You too! And the lovely Yvonne xx

Thanks GazOC. Obviously someone's listening - wasnt there on the home page the other day.
Have a lovely Christmas to Alan and all the liverpool marathon formites.
Alan gave me a marathon for Christmas last year, wonder what he's got me this year.
