I think you shouold put an asterisk next to the name of all the people who originally intended to do IMUK 2014 but are now going to going to 2013 (i.e. everyone) as this should provide bragging rights for CERTAIN individuals on this thread lol
Well done on your weekend exploits, especially recovering from OW wobble - it happens to more people than you would think. You just have to have a coping strategy, I usually find just talking to myself for a second or two helps.
Oh and Raf - thanks for taking the heat off me with your broomstick comments, more of the same over the next two weeks so I don't get battered in Nottingham, thanks.
21 miles on the bike this afternoon, 1 hour 20 min. My back really started to hurt around halfway, so I just moved around in the saddle and stood up for a bit. Seemed to help as it eased off and wasn't that bad when I got home.
Have the house to myself tonight, so I can lie on the sofa and blob. No wine tho', am being good
Well done Nurse. Having a couple of days of non training because my legs are still quite painful. Although i'm chomping at the bit to go out on the bike. I guess skipping a hours run & 45 min bike wont be the end of the world.
SD, I too get very edgy if I can't get out and train, but will you please CALM DOWN. Listen to your body, it's telling you something. You're right, skipping the one brick is no biggie, and if you don't rest your painful legs you're going to end up really injuring yourself.
Well, I see I can't pop out for a few 'rehydration' guiness after my race without someone leaving the door open and letting the Fairy in!! We'll have to behave ourselves now!!
Holgs - glad to be of assistance...I think!!
And Nursey, I'm follwoing your advice and taking a couple of days off; the wine is open already!
Results are out from yesterday and bike was actually 1:08 - which I well pleased with! I was 160th overall (out of 3650), and 42nd in my age category (out of 380) - not bad for an old man!! Would have been a different story if they had made us do that pesky swimming thingy!!
I'm well, thanks for asking, and feeling that slightly smug feeling of having done my exercise for the day, so I can lie on the sofa all night.
So - you've been lured to the dark side! All we need now is to set you up with a new forum name, and you'll be good to go for your first IM. There really is nothing else to it.

I think you'll find that the fairy being around has never had any bearing on whether or not we behave (might have some bearing on you though as you're the apprentice )
you're not going to believe this but prelim results are suggesting that i was 161st overall and 43rd in my age group (errrr.... except there were only 260 people racing in total and about 60 in my age group )
newbie signing on after reading the ironholgs book, feeling inspired to get off my backside & stop making excuses about doing a triathlon!
Hoping for a sprint in a couple of weeks. Also planning on attending the Outlaw as I live in Notts.

FerrisWheel - i'm very well thanks, will be good to see you at the Outlaw there will be quite a few of us there, do make sure that say hello if you see us The M...elderator will be the one with the broom and a very long pony tail, probably in a plait, if there's anyone with her that will be Schmunkee - The list fairy who likes nothing better than diving off her bike into the nearest hedge and/or making a list or two.
Stop making excuses
By tomorrow you need to tell us which Sprint triathlon you have entered
By tomorrow you need to have changed your screen name
By tomorrow night SD will have added you to the IMUK 2013 list

REST! Nurse's orders.
Oops can't read! Not a brick. But you still have to rest!
Lying on the sofa, legs raised, compression socks on
Ooh, what slim, shapely ankles you'll have
