Hmmmm Neil I'm kind of at your stage with my leg again...it's not good and I'm afraid to make it worse. Sounds like your sports massage didn't hit the, erm, spot...
13k with 10 x 100m sprints for me this morning - I'm knackered! Long time since I have done interval pace BUT....it only rained for long enough to soak me to the skin then it stopped.
Leg really niggling so tomorrow's recovery run will be substituted for an hour on the bike in a vague attempt to be sensible wondering if I need to go back to the physio
yer_maj - Be careful with that injury. I think my decision to continue training after the Glasgow half and then run the Chicago marathon is the reason why I've been out injured as long as I have. I no doubt did all sorts of damage by doing that.
Neil - so did I! Actually, we have dinner together every year at a friends place (a car gathering). He is one of a very small group of people who have flown across the Atlantic by balloon. And he almost made it - they ditched in the ocean within site of the shore.
Have had a few days rest/cycling to keep up fitness thanks to a rather painful muscle in the back of my leg (achilies tendon?), pretty sure it was brought on by a sudden introduction of the nice long steep hills in my town. Tempted to go for a shorter evening run today to see if it's actually better, not sure if it's best to wait a few more days though.
Went out in the awful Devon weather on Saturday for 12miles and got absolutely soaked through. And just spent my lunch time doing intervals. 3x1mile with 0.25mile recoveries. Managed the first couple in under 7m/m but the final interval went down to 7:13.
Had my Garmin delivered last week which I'm really happy with but will have to work out how to connect to all you lovely people.
Any chance of an up to date Paris Runners list? * So that I can update the Who's Whon 2013 *
Lovely as TJB is, some more photos would be nice...(Weedy, could I have a jpeg of your RW covers? ) Shorts 'n' vests shots are best....so we have a fighting chance of recognising each other on the day....but the old ' beautiful baby' number will make things more challenging..Send me jpegs, with your bib number and time goal/last words and I'll add you to this year's Rogues' Gallery.
This evening, I'm having my first mince pie of the season...
I know someone told me before how to make a link from one of these simple fruit based sub computers but I forgot. Anyway, if you don't like weirdly sexy, don't look at the link above.
Fab photo, Dave The Ex -S* Official Mascot for the Thread Paris Tri 2013 Try...* 'Save me the work..What's your time goal? Honest, I'll keep it a secret...
ATM - amateur. I had my first mince pie about 3 weeks ago.
TD - what with you and your afflictions and Mrs TD and hers, it must be a bit stressful in your house at the moment. How's the dog?
Right, I need some help. I've drawn a runner in the office Secret Santa. It's just a token thing, so the budget's only ??5. Any suggestions for fun things I could get for a fiver? He's training for a marathon next spring, so I'll put in a 3:30 pace band, mostly to wind him up (although I reckon he can do it), but any other ideas? All I can think of are gels and things, which aren't that exciting.
ATM - thats not Dan - thats Joe (he runs a couple of halves with me every year and he used to be the singer in my old band). He's quite a charismatic chap when he wants to be, playing many leads in musicals (in Exeter) for instance Fagin in Oliver and and Wild Bill Hickock in Calamity Jane. He's a fun lad! http://www.myspace.com/slowboattobarnet/videos/joe-in-oliver/3392048
(Dan is too mysterious to lark about in a photo with some prat looking like a wannabe Olympian crossed with Cypress Hill gone wrong)
RR that clipon hat light thing that Dannirr posted a link to a few pages back was in the fiver price range and looked genuinely useful esp if he's in marathon training
tough for a fiver rr....beetroot juice or flapjack? maybe a water bottle.
did a nice 14km with a few laps of the meadows and then 8km out and back along the canal. perfect running conditions up here...looks a bit wet in yorkshire though...
RR - nipple plasters and a plastic anorak for the start. The things people don't tell you, you really need for a marathon. maybe a printout of marathon/running jokes.
Comments
Weedy - I like the sound of that but I think Kaz has the ultimate Yuki suit I just run the marathon - she runs in all weathers and at stupid times!
@Danirr - I live relatively close to Waasmunster now.

the nipple plasters will certainly get some laughs from the less educated. Oh, chaffing gel!! He'll need that too.
