Excited and nervous. First full distance for me. Hope that on the race weekend, I will get to meet some of the Pirates. I'm just a deck hand / scrubber woman at the moment.
I hope you'll be racing in Pirate colours RTN?.... in which case, you'll be lined up for promotion from deckhand, to able seaman!
If you need pirate kit to race, then watch out for the order early in the new year, or just ask and usually, most people can find a lender of kit that will fit.
lets be honest.... its all prep for an Ironman on my 100th birthday
RTN - Outlaw was my first full distance last year, and the Pirates dragged me around it! Good luck with the training, and look forward to meeting you there.
Have entered Outlaw again this year, in the hope of getting one without a monsoon season in the middle. Apparently, last year's had the worst weather of any so far. If that happens again, you can blame me, as I'm obviously a rain magnet!
Plantar fasciitis is back, in the other foot. Pissed of doesn't cover it. Took six months and two cortisone injections last time, at least I've got a new Tacx and videos to keep me occupied.
Not much branded accommodation, but a LOT of B&Bs and small hotels along that coast. Check Hunstanton, Brancaster, Wells-next-the-sea. And some good campsites, as well as the actual event one they are setting up. Certainly a good location if you have a family to keep interested - sandy beaches within walking distance of the start, and a fair amount of other tourist stuff along the coast if you want to make a weekend of it.
As far as I'm aware, there's no Ford Capri in the lake, though. That may count against it!
So, I was down to do the bike leg for "Team Norfolkinchance" at Outlaw next year, but due to some 'crossed wires' at Chez Pudge, I am not able to grace Nottingham with my attendance.
As a result, there is a vacancy available within the best and most promising pirate relay team at Outlaw 2016.

Would love to get some pirate kit MC. Would feel part of the family and will need all the help and support that's going.

Well done Paperman. Will you do another? That's what I'm hoping too. Any piggybacks will be very gratefully received

RS - I'm hoping not. We'll see!
What is this business with a second Outlaw Half? Anyone have underground information on when/where?
Its out in the sticks in Holkham Hall in North Norfolk.
Quick check shows not a lot of accommodation nearby. Nearest Premier Inn is 30 miles away.

Meh! I'll give it a miss.
Not camping? It's a nice place honest

No Capri, that's not acceptable! On the plus side I may actually be able to stay at home and drive there that weekend, bonus sticks Norfolk!!!!

Yep - the wife's after an entry to that one. Anyone else hammering their keyboards at 9am tomorrow?
Ps: Holkham is just down the road from me and a beautiful venue.
it could be wet and windy.or baking hot....but camping is the place to be and watch out for the pirate feed station
swim a little, run a little and bike a lot
Curious about that feed station now though.
The Pirate feed station ? Think the Playboy Masion, but with isotonic drinks
I am on the feed station next year
mmm New award ? Playmate of the feed station ?
