just seen a poster down portsmouth way claiming that spammer sports is doing 20% discount for race club members and anyone with a great south run race number over the great south weekend!!anyone know about this store?does sound interesting..
At a recent race in Germany I picked up a leaflet for a race in 2003 which I think will be a little bit different. The race takes place underground through what is scheduled to become at over (12 kilometres long), the longest road tunnel in Germany.
Details of the race are a little sketchy at this stage as illustrated by the website, which incidently is all in German:
However, what I can glean is that: 1. The race takes place before the first opening to traffic on 30 March 2003. 2. Total distance is 28 km which is basically and out and back course. I have seen a map of the tunnel and the course climbs 150 metres in total from the start to the mid point in the tunnel (i.e. at about 7 kilometres) before sloping down to the return point at 14 kilometres. The second half of the race is a rerun of the first but in reverse i.e. total climbing of 300 metres (900 feet) which is quite challenging. 3. I suspect that this will be a once only run event.
Further detail of the Rennsteig tunnel project are set out on the website:
Once a year the eyes of the nation turn her, to this tiny hamlet in Pennslyvanian, to watch a master at work. The master? Punxsutawny Phil. the world's most famous weatherman, the groundhog, who, as legend has it, can predict the coming of an early spring.
And here's the big moment we've all been waiting for. Let's just see what Mr Groundhog has to say.
Excel in normal number format gives you times in normal decimals but I want to see time in actual minutes and seconds. i have tried formatting cell in custom mm:sec but this just gives me 00:00.

It's a refresh bug, runningnut. Waap's humour's usually more sophisticated than that!

Hopefully I can continue to warn you in the new year.
