Did the Mens Health Survival 10k in Cardiff on Sunday. Took way too long but did include numerous bottlenecks and obstacles! And was about 11.5k in reality.
Hoping the effort will get me ready for a 5k PB on Saturday morning at MK Parkrun. Rejection for the VLM has also inspired me to sign up for 2 halfs (Dec and Mar) and a full marathon (May).

Had a speed session on the treadmill earlier and ran 10 miles in just under 1:10. Feel I still need to put in some more training effort though if I am going to nail a sub 1:10 in race scenario. Also did some weights, rowing and had a swim.

A rare road run for me last night including quite a scary section in the dark on the promenade near Liverpool Coastguard Station Mild weather & a cooling breeze: enjoyed my outing!
My first time on this thread. I did my first trail (or was it fell?) run yesterday. Only 10+ miles in nearly two hours, but with 1,700 ft ascent. On the hills between Buxton and Macclesfield on a glorious day. It was tough but I loved it - certainly beats plodding along the canal tow path. I'm not quite sure where it fits into the training schedule though - a mixture of LSR and hill reps I guess.
Well done Doug! Sounds like a tough but fun event!
Me: 8M commute in, and now just getting ready for the 8M home. Ran it a bit fast this morning (7.45m/M), so this is more a double than a LSR broken up. I'll just plod home now.....
Yesterday after sunset, an interesting 10.5 miles on trails, paths & beach near Liverpool Coastguard Station in Blundellsands - wish I'd remembered my headtorch!
Hi runners.last race on sunday k 9.7 real time 39.51 my pb .thank you for support. I ran only 37 mns today easy pace 168 p/m my legs are stiff. Good night at all.
Did the Amesbury Amble 40K on Sunday, my first attempt at running it having done it as a fast walker previously. A very pleasant informal event and I surprised myself with 3:40 (5:17 last year!), given all the hills. It's given me the confidence to try some proper running events now. Anyone done the Over The Hills 12 at Bradford on Avon?
Easy 4 mile today. Had a long weekend away and then didnt feel great so this is the first this week. HM Sunday so I am starting to feel a little nervous. Just checked weather and it looks good so far (not too windy)
Cheers.all the best for you great runner swittle.well done Sw.good training DF and good luck on sunday your HM alib. Today 30 mns only a bit tired i decided enjoy my training.night runners.
