done about 1400 for macmillan so far, mostly rollover/double or quits from nyc!haven't put my back into it yet, lots of (hopefully)heavy hitters to be tapped up.leafletting starts at the weekend....did 6.6k running nyc hoping for 4-5k this time...beware aggressive tactics starting soon. well done everyone, any sum has got to be good news for the charities, its not a competition,we just hope they spend it wisely....
Managed to raise £1200 so far for children with leukaemia, but have been offered another £500 by some work colleges if I shave all my hair off. So if you see a daft looking bald man in the FLM, it's me.
I need to raise £1500 for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre and I'm up to approx £1300, hopefully will do it, but am now concentrating on the training.
Well done everyone keep the info flowing, we want to know how much you have all raised so that we can put a banner up at mile 18 to congratulate you all on your hard work.
I reckon URWFRC members will collectively raise well over £100,000 we seem to be getting there but there are still lots of people to post so let us know...
I got in through the ballot but decided to raise money anyway for the National Kidney research fund since my Dad has an incurable kidney disease. Had raised about £500 but my boss offered to double it!!! I only have to wear company logo. Additionally I'm having my name STU 'carved' into my hair - not for charity just felt like it. Look at www.justgiving.com/stuartbeard to see me as a fat bloke in Aug 02 before I started running!
Just giving is a great idea but most people don't want or can't be arsed to register!
Currently at £3,300 but expecting to go up beyond £3,500 for the Home Farm Trust - an excellent charity for people with learning disabilities: they provide care and supported employment for my cousin so there's a strong family link. Am very lucky to have generous family and friends - my target was £1,500 so am very pleased to have gone so far above that.
Impressive figures out there. I daren't count how much as I know I'm well behind any decent figure. People keep saying yes but not acting. I've given loads of forms out but they don't come back. I'm embarrased to even think about any figure. I don't have any big company to match my collection so I just feel stuffed.
Echoing someone's earlier remarks on my fundraising efforts?
ANY funds raised are to be congratulated! You are making a huge personal commitment of time and effort to prepare for and participate in the marathon... you are doing your bit, if others (those you ask for sponsorship) aren't doing theirs, that is their problem!
Raised about £680 so far for the Meningitis Trust but my target is £1,500 so am way off at the mo. It's much harder than I thought it would be, however there's still time to get that total up! www.justgiving.com/Zoe
Had a GB place with Children with Leukaemia, but then got through on the ballot and decided to run for them anyway. Original target was £2000, but I have raised £1800 so far and I know relatives helping have raised a further £250 so far. Now just aiming for as much as possible!
Currently between £2-3000 for the National Kidney Research Fund. I'm fortunate in that I've not had to do any fundraising - once people find out that I'm (probably) the first haemodialysis patient in the world to run a marathon people throw money at me (seriously! I've come home to find money stuffed through the letterbox on a number of occasions).
I know how you are feeling. Last year I ran on my own place but decided to raise money anyway.
My biggest sponsor (a client)said he would raise lots of money from his friends and colleagues and in a board meeting told them that sponsorship started at £2000 each and handed out lots of forms.
I was totally gobsmacked and told the charity that on this basis I was on target for £35,000.
Unfortunatly he was all mouth.
I managed to get £900 from him in October, six months after the marathon had finished!
Needless to say I got now where near the target, but at least I never had to worry about a minimum for my place.
I've got just under £700 so far for Oxfam. I am on a ballot place, so this all goes to the charity. I set myself a target of £500, but expected £350, so am very pleased with this. Unfortunately my company doesn't do matched giving.

I agree with whoever said that the fundraising is so much harder than the training!
Good luck to everyone - have a fantastic day on the 13th and well done on your fund raising.

Well impressed with everyone though. My total seems pitiful compared to some.

Well done every penny for charity is a penny more than they would have had. Looking forward to cheering you on at mile 18 as Im on URWFRC stand
