yes KPO thats the one .Been toying with the idea for a week or so but this half will only be four weeks after my holiday so dont know if its a good idea
how did buxton go the wind was a bit strong wasnt it
I looked and looked for you Sunday and couldn't find you were you in hiding or did I just miss out? Was looking for the number 112 which might not have helped because a lot of folks didn't have there numbers.
Anyone know how stu when on and why only the half for Nottingham come on it fun!
I will come support the rest of the Notts marathon after running the half..... providing I can crack a can open or get a pint from somewhere!! I'll do my loudest cheering I promise!
There i was arriving into Buxton at 1030. I went into the parking and remembered i had taken no money with me. Not a problem i thought, i will just park on some road somewhere. At 1055 i parked up and began the walk down to the hq to collect my number which had not arrived by post. Plenty of time yet i thought, it doesn't start for another 35 minutes.
I was just crossing the road near hq when, whats this, hundreds of people approaching me at a quick pace???? Oh f#cking ba#tard you must be joking me, it can't possibly start at 11 can it????
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA I've just been reading emails back and it was YOU that told me and Cake that it started at 11am! Seriously just laughed out loud!!
Look on the bright side Rother Valley turned up 10 minutes late gave my bag to a complete stranger ran it and then was able to pick bag off complete stranger just before the end. Laughed my socks off come in the finish line wearing a bag rucksack with all the people who I had passed at the start thinking I'd just ran the whole race with it on.
Plod you did say it started at 11.00 just checked sorry son.
Not been round these parts much recently - had parents up for the long weekend and had to pack away the PC to create enough space in the spare room for them to sleep! PC now up and running again - one more day and then I'll be back at w*rk suffering holiday-bereavement.
Bliddy hell KPO! What's wrong with you? You need to run some races boy!
Hello to all, especially to Aitch, as girl partner in crime on here! >mwah<
Hi everyone! Glad to see this thread still going strong!
KPO - just read back over the Buxton saga... it may take you a while to live that one down!
Cake - how did you get on at Buxton?
Had a great weekend up at Edinburgh mara, I came in at 3:22, was aiming for 3:15 and I was on target up till mile 24 at which point both my legs started to cramp up horribly and i had to stop and stretch about 5 or 6 times and really hobbled home. We also had a killer headwind for the 1st 18miles, so on reflection I'm pretty happy with 3:22, plus it was a pb by 7mins.
Did ok'ish at Buxton think it was about 2.10 but still waiting for the race times to turn up on the site. Just checking was hanging around some of the other folks in this site and there is a get together planned for Luton marathon on 7th Dec is anyone else interested in this one, sounds like it could be a good laugh and as it's that close to xmas we can bring toys. Only downside is it's the same weekend as hogdash I think?
