Sorry no time to read back 4 days of posts just now. Great to meet friends old and new shame so little time to chat but was great to spend time with some folks at Dun Cow sat and sun night.
Well done to everyone some great times and great PBs I was happy with my run and 20 min PB 5th in Catagory so no worries. Hardest part was the 900 mile round trip its a long drive but was worth it for your company.
Mick, it was my first!!! It was lovely to see you and Phil
Had planned a wee plod tonight but just been to the post office (20 mins' walk and 15 mins' queueing) and my legs are none too happy so may give it another day.
My race finished with a lady no.31and me 32 finished same time although I'm sure I was over the line first , however 100 yards before the finish we had to run around a car that was blocking the way . I went up the verge to get past and according to my Garmin pace was around 6:30 . The duel started about 1/2 a mile out from the finish , as she passed me I upped my pace and stayed there and we got quicker and quicker , well it was a race afterall
What with the car breaking down just as we got to Draycote. We only got home at 10pm this evening. Car now has a new Alternator.
My race was not one of my best races, mind was on other things. I did my first couple of miles too fast, managed to stop my Garmin at some point. I found the first two laps very lonely as it was me and my ipod. It was nice to meet up with MicknPhil half way round lap 3. I had a go of pushing Phil in his wheelchair, it push nicely on the flat but boy is it hard work on a hill. Mick I don't know how you do it.
Thank you to the Fetch people running in the opposite direction, you were a great.
I'm almost back in full training but still being hindered by my guts. I am at least fuelled and hydrated now but running and burping vomit is not a winning combination.
So don't you sensible people get any silly ideas :¬)
