So no inov8s then? I reccied the course in my roclites and they were perfect..... still, I guess several hundred sets of them might be a conservation issue, I take it that's why they are banned? Fortunately I have some nice non-studded Mizunos which will also be just right - apart from the hideous banana yellow which is a bit unfortunate......
Yes, I'm afraid that the rendition of the National Anthem this morning was a bit 'limp.' I'm sure that the Munroers and Picnicers will do better - they are made of sterner stuff. I did the D10M (started 9 mins after everyone else after clearing up the start zone) - it was on the warm side - saw lots of familiar faces - great!
I'm looking forward to the run-through: it's one of the friendliest and most chilled out hard runs of the year.
Heh, just watching the YouTube video right now ... looks like a real hoot! I presume the piper is there to encourage us to run faster ...
Edit several minutes later ... I love the interview with Claire from Purple Patch, just as a bloke gets carried past her in the background, completely crocked
overdid it on the hill practice and developed a nice case of shinsplints...don't want to take any chances as I'm running a marathon in a couple of months. So if anyone is interested in using my no. , drop me a line at sreid(at)imperial.ac.uk
Hi everyone - unfortunately I have had to pull out of this event so if anyone out there is in need of a place please get in touch. Probably easiest to email me (I have enabled it on my profile).
Best of luck to everyone doing it - wish I could join you. It's a toughie but well worth it (did it in 07).
Muttley - lol but you are forgetting that thay have both ran this before.....we may have different views about this one after our `little` run next saturday...gulp !!
Yup - just email me (rob at trionium dot com) with details of new runners - DoB, club, email. In Canada at the moment (nice running on the Toronto waterfront), but back in plenty of time.

"sick twisted sadist who revels in the looks of agony on the poor pained souls who cross the line at the end"
But I thought that was the standard definition for all race organizers?
Need to get some serious work in for this one. I'll start by no longer using the lift at work

Can anyone please help. What type of shoe would be most practable for the event, normal trainer or trail?
both are fine but Dr Rob says no studs or spikes
OMG...
I have had some practice......I sung the National Athem at the the Doking 10 this morning
This morning`s race was only 3 or so miles from the start of the Munro - you could say it`s in the shadows of the surrounding hills.
Went up to the start area of the Munro...wish I hadn`t.
Dr Robert - were you running in the Doking 10 too - as I saw some run past me with Union Jack shorts on & long sleeve top around the 8.5 mile mark.
Ok, but I may need more singing practice thou...........
I'm looking forward to the run-through: it's one of the friendliest and most chilled out hard runs of the year.
Unable to run this due to injury and operation.
Please call me on 07588 510886 if you are interested in purchasing my number.

Hi Dr Robert, a couple of people have offered their places here - would you be happy for a name change? Thanks very much.
