I had prob with sleep on one attempt -is a drag.
body will react as it should react when not being poisoned. It is designed for ridding itself of crap though may not always feel the way we would want it too.

I find the whole "don't have a fag" thing easy - but I want to remember the small things that make it "memorable" if you know what I mean
I will go for a run or a cycle when I get home - that should make me sleepy!

think I know what you mean -as a sort of re-enforcement thing. I try to maintain a pic of what smoking was really like for me -the awfulness, the feeling lousy and that.

Exactly. I am treating it as a drug addiction - rather than simply "giving up smoking". If I make it serious in my mind, then I make stopping it serious.
I am tired of smoking and it's rubbish that people can get off crack, cocaine, alcohol, drugs etc, but for some reason, smoking is this elusive thing

Yeh that's kind of the way I am leaning - everything will just sort out by itself. It feels a bit better now - it's worse at night.
Apart from looking at it on the internet, I am stopping at the bookstore this weekend to have a look.
My mother has given up with me but she said that she is battling. I am going to get her loads of literature
The thing that really made me think from the book is this. . Nicotine produces a feeling an hour after a fag that seems like a mild feeling of anxiety. Each fag starts this feeling off , firtsly at a low level before it increases to a less low level. Each subsequent fag starts the process over and over again. As the feeling restarts at a lower level whn you smoke,, your subconscious mind which functions to reduce threat (flight or fight), is fooled into thinking the cigarette helps reduce fear/threat instead of simply creating a physical feeling that imitates fear/stress. If you think about a genuine stress and the amount you smoke then-does it really stop the genuine stress ? Why do you tend to smoke loads at such time and they really dont kick in?
After hours of thinking about it-it really rings so true to my experience.
If your subconscious still sees cigarettes as reducing anxious/tense feelings , long after you stop, it will tell you to have one, wouldnt it? And it would protest if you didnt if it believes smoking would reduce the feeling (it thinks it is working for your benefit ). I had to get my subconscious to see fags not as ending that feeling but causing one similar to real stress/tension.
Yeh that's it though, isn't it? It's all about the subconscious idea of fags. It's day 5 now and I don't crave from a nicotine part. But had an interesting night last night and would gladly book myself into a clinic and smoke fags until I drop.

keep sending messages to subconscious that resembles the truth. All they will do is create that tense feeling and any subsequent one will first reduce it before making sure it will come back. The rest is lies and there is no need to be frightened. I did a being bitten by a snake visualization that saw having a fag as being bitten and describing the build up and fizzle out of tension-worked well. If you get the book it will show you. I did it whilst smoking and my subconscious just let go after a few days.
Casey demonstrates how subconscious can let go well. "You cant stop loving someone even if you had a gun to your head. You may lie but that love doesnt simply go. But you can fall out of love quite easily if you discover that, say you were getting abused and a new picture of the person emerges." With fags once you discover the truth at a deep level you can fall out of the "love" you have for them at a drop of an hat.
Will definitely look at buying it this weekend...

My cousin was so cute yesterday - he is totally stoked that I have stopped smoking. He was rattling off all the good things - so I have a lot of support
good on your cousin. Trick is to really really believe it deep down. Any pro smoking message you get is crap. Carr is good for proving that.
the nicotine is now out-that is a good start. Keep your mind right and it will be fine.
