Your not a blue are you legless? Was desparately hoping to come to Dublin to take Simon's mind off the very 'bizz' blues and Championship manager which he lives for!
oh no my dear-I am the worlds(well essex anyway)biggest supporter of the mighty, the indestructable, greatest club in English football history...................... Scunthorp united.............. no seriously LIVERPOOL that'll get RB going hehe BTW 8.00pm Temple Bar-dont forget!!!!!
Didnt wash the car at the weekend and am thus not injured. Did however do 13 miles yesterday morning at easy Marathon goal pace of 9.30 and remebered the days when I thought a half marathon was impossible...mmm. Decided a sub 4.15 is very dooable...so hopfully would have finished about 20 mins ago in a weeks time!!
Ian, as I mentioned earlier I'm gonna do 3/4 milers until Friday, probably have Saturday off completely then do 3/4 miles on Sunday in Dubbers somewhere in the afternoon.
Thank goodness my training appears to be back on track...
When I ran last Wednesday, I was about 4.5 miles into a 5 miler and had to stop and hobble back with a seriously knackered knee. I have rested and stretched it since (I think it was ITB-related) and then decided to take it out for a long run today. I managed to do 8 miles at marathon pace without so much as a twinge, so all being well, should be able to go okay on Monday. Big relief!!! Mind you, 26.2 miles is a very different proposition compared to 8. Hope the missing sessions don't cause me too much of a problem either.
I won't be doing much this week either. Like Wolfy, longest will be 4 miles. Will probably do another 3 miler as well just to keep loose, do a bit of stretching and that will probably be it. I tend to have a couple of days off before a marathon.
Hope everyone goes well this week. See you all soon.
Hi All, this time next week it will all be over and the aches and pains will have set in. It will be getting close to 8.00 IN TEMPLES BAR and shakingofhandspatsonbacksdrinksmmerrymentmarathonstoriesmoredrinkandslurredspeech.YIPPEE.
Now this week I was going to do slow 4/5 miles but have a nasty blister on the sole/instep of my right foot(new trainers that i thought were ok)anybody got any quick remedies for treatment of.I have never suffered before.
back from a 15 miler-2.12.38 which considering I haven't run for 11 days I will settle for-quite a hilly course as well so gotta take some possitives into next monday. Gonna do a 4 mile recovery on weds afternoon, then a 4/5 miler on fri then thats it!!!!!!!! lets pray we all stay fit a healthy and make that start line.
Tiger have you tried compeed plasters? Leave it on for a few days and should be fine. Am planning on a run Wednesday of 4 fairly quick and again on Friday. The brekkie run on Sunday of course. Eating a lot and drinking water/isotonic. Good to have you back DW.
sensible answers(that exludes you then sarcy) on a post card to........

Here, Legless, is that the pub menu for the week. God you're organised. Tonight's delicacy at chez Snicks has been a rice cake and salsa and rice cake and marmite combo! Reason for this is I was hungry and I might go running when aupair returns. Earlier today I ate kitkat, crisps, chocolate mousse, bagels, a couple of apples. Oh dear, I am unhealthy. Okay, Ray, I'm back to it now.
Legless - think you'll need more than one meal a day - presume the above is lunch? What's for dinner?
Snicks stop it, you're not unhealthy. Au contraire, you seem to have a healthy appetite!!
DW - good news about the leg - keep treating it and rest this week and sure you'll be fine. You too Legless, good to get that run out of the way and it's all downhill from here. Via the kitchen by the looks of things.
sorry folks it was my strange sense of humour- thats the week I get back from Dublin this week is a pasta and chicken diet. no black stuff-save that for........ temple bar 8.00pm if you dont know by now
Food this week: Bagels, pasta, jacket spuds and lot's of the same!!
And don't forget the water, could do with a temporary loo next to my desk I'm going that much at moment but I'll be hydrated on the day.....6 nights of no alcohol, boo hoo!
