MadLot - loads of people do this tri with improvised kit. I've done 5 of the Fun2Tri series over the last four years and I've used my faithful hybrid for each of them. Yes, it's not fast but I'm only taking part for fun. I'm not competative - well, maybe only with myself.
And that is the attitude of a large number of the people who do this event. There are all shapes and sizes, all abilities.
.......PB, After staring at my wet suit for 7 months I finally got to use it this week and it was a right kick in the teeth. It's not the same as swimming without one. I'd get the locals to take you out on .....open water swim practice mate, because your body is in a completely different position in the water.
I figure it is likely to be 6 inches below the surface.
Today, I got up early and went for a run (i.e. 5.15). Need to get some ground back for this race. Ran just over 4 miles. Looking back over my log, it's the first time I've ran this far since July last year !! Couldn't believe it had been THAT long. No wonder my running last month at Nantwich was cack. Felt good. Legs okay.
Broodiness overload PO. Can we not think of Holgs doing it please through, he's a lovely chap but personally that's not a mental picture I want to hold.
Thanks very much everyone.......just hope mini-holgs uncle Viking doesn't teach him/her too many bad habits.
Yeah agree JP, it would be good if they played liked they cared. As a Newcastle fan the way you lot played this season reminded me of how we played to get relegated.

Ironman seems a bit tame these days so I’ve entered an ultra endurance event, see the attached link for the details.
My next big challenge
It takes place on December 16th, I’m already in training for it and hopefully I’ll be fully recovered from my august Ironman by kick off.
Thanks,
Andy
Congrats to you and Em Holgs
Didn't know you had it in you
Or in Em for that matter
turkey basters are wonderful things SA, I learnt that from your missus
Seriously, thanks mate
Anybody else suddenly let out an AAAAAAHHHH??
Congrats! A mini Holgs! Do this mean you've "done it" now then?
Its a happy day in this house . I am not too bothered who we get now as long as we try and place some decent football.
If we cant compete for champs league lets atleast play attacking football and lose 3-2 rather than lose one nil cos we dont know how to attack.
