I like the idea of saying to Johnny foriegner "yes is was 100miles, thats 160 of your (inferior) kilometres " . Feet all the way for me. Though I like those big litre beer glasses you sometimes get in Europe.... and usually what's in them. I'm just a confused child of the 80's and 90's who was taught bits of both and left to decide what was useful.
CD - What brought you to a greenhouse in Broomfleet in the dim and distant past then? I'll slow down next time I go past there
Km for motivation, good thinking. I do like being in a minority too... no corrie, saturday morning tv, reality tv or other such nonsense enters my spectrum of vision or thought.
Cycling isn't quite doing it for me, too many cars, junctions to stop for and better cyclists on good bikes showing me up. Looks so much more fun for the Tour de France boys. Couldn't see myself doing it more than a few days a week There's a few local kayak clubs, might try and learn that
Thanks for all these shoe recommendfations, Fellrunner. On the strength of your recommending NB875s in the past I've ordered some 876s. Those Walshes look good.
Don't know about you but I've certainly had a case of BROKEN SPECTACLES on one outing I had.
indeed de..an ultra exec club of 3 with the occasional dino popping in
with you on the cycling..enjoy it for an hour for a change but nothing more..and dislike them on the open moors etc..bunch of hoolies
and yes..zig when others zag..it all started living near sunderland in 1973 when i started suporting chelsea..loved being the black sheep...then when everyone at uni was into indie i was into rock...and so it goes on..hows the injury?
de..just realised which greenhouses you're thinking about..it wasnt those but a private one in someones garden opposite or near the pub in broomfleet..i'd only met her just two hours earlier..rock star lifestyle back then
Yes, sorry for that extraneous "f" - most unlike me.
I was setting off down a hill once and fell down a hole that wasn't covered for some reason. It was about 5' deep and had all water pipes and taps at the bottom. I crashed my chest heavily onto the opposite rim of the hole, probably cracking my sternum, and I never saw my specs again.
Ha ha - yes indeed! All getting a bit scary for me now - only six months to the MdS so I have an exciting autumn booked. Atlantic coastal challenge in October, Druid Challenge and Brecon ultra in november. Maybe Doyen in December. Makes me feel slightly nauseus thinking about it! Whats next for you?
we're just finishing off now having done our main ones for 2010 - the c2c and lakeland 50 (you should try that next year)..so just another lakes outing, hp40 and a few fell races
then i think we'll be gearing up for the utld100 next july..eek
wow - looks exciting! I'm really keen to do another lake district event next year as i've not been up at all in 2010. Maybe another bash at Saunders.
Yes sand is going to be a big issue! I'm trying to plan some training weekends down at Camber to get some sand training in...not quite the sahara though hey!!
I'm doing the 50 next year ..............now I know the course I'm hoping to do it a couple of hours faster...........and then I will try and tackle the 100 the following year......I can save a few hours on the downhills
