Jason - Good running. My name is in the VLM ballot, but i've not heard anything either. Don't want the place anyway as I don't want to train for a marathon again so soon.
Last run before Sunday's race this morning, 3.5M trundle around the town without a Garmin or HRM for the first time since March
All limbs/joints/muscles perfectly intact ... until i get to work and i'm sure my ankles / hips / quads/ hams ( *insert other key running parts including vital organs here* ) have got niggles or is it my imagination
Must say i'm hoping this windy/stormy malarchy buggers off soon as my race is pretty much 100% exposed to the sea winds.
Mace - Good luck! What race is it that you're doing?
-----
7.3 miles for me this morning, also my last run before racing on Sunday. Everything seems in working order Planned to run tomorrow, but that was based on me not working tonight.
F well done on the wet 6 - glad the calf is better
HM oh no! Hope the shoulder eases quickly...
Stuart well done. Enjoy the rest
mace...you're all set. Good luck for your FIRST RACE!!!
----
16m for me this morning - 10m on my own, HR70%, 9.20mm so a bit slower than recently (must have been the beers last night), then a tough hilly 6m with the club at 8.30mm...all ok.
Jason - good luck for the Chester marathon, should be quite a scenic one if I remember the area correctly, although I haven't been there for some while. Not running around the walls I hope
Teknik - nice run, 10 miles followed by a harder, hilly 6 sounds like a tough workout in my book
Mace - enjoy the Folkestone half and hope you have a great race.
Stuart - what race are you doing? As I type this I'm thinking "he must have already mentioned it so I really should go back and look"
HM4 - nice to see that you still have the avatar of your cat. We (family and I) stayed at "Sandy Balls" (yes, it's a real place) in the New Forest and a ginger cat adopted us for the four days we were there. We named him 'Roger' and spoilt him enormously. BTW, what are "Insanity Workouts"?
Thanks. I don't do photos usually so it's handy having a cat like Millie to use as my avatar ! But when I got married in January I had a whale of a time being photoed and when it comes to running I'm fair game. Insanity Workout is scary there is a thread on here (which is very easy to find if you just search on Insanity Workout) & Insanity Workout. It seems expensive to me however when you take into account how much gym membership would cost I guess it's not too bad.
We did Sandy Balls last year, cool place. There was a cat then with a bit of character used to hang out on the pathway and all the cars had to steer round it. May well have been ginger ?!
4 mile plod last night and achilles is still niggling, sorta cleared up but it seems to be back causing me mild discomfort.
Made a decision in that im starting the marathon and see how it goes,am sensible enough to know where my pain /discomfort threshold is and then act accordingly but am sure it wont come to that on the day
Good luck to all weekend racers, I hope the weather is good for all marathoners! A bit breezy here but in the right direction for Loch Ness runners. Fingers crossed that the achilles behaves YC.
No time for a run last night as at work til late (month end) but should be ok for tonight.
Got my GFA yesterday too. I can feel a plan coming on!
Tek - Yes I am now thanx. Concussion now better, and back out today for my last LSR......It felt really good knowing that. 20 miles with 8@mp. Overall average pace 8.41mm, given that I had strong head wind and some very heavy rain showers for the last 6 miles I am happy!
Good luck to all doing Loch Ness this weekend, I hope the weather is kind to you!
Thanks Tek - good luck for Folkstone Half and Berlin too folks.
Going to feel a bit left out spectating not racing this weekend but planning a run on my own somewhere in inverness before getting down to the finsih line and some pre race socialising with friends.

Jason & Fiona - Well done on getting your GFA places
Si - Hardlines, I got rejected in the ballot too
Kaz - Nice run
Tek - Well done

I'm feeling like a kid at Xmas now, really exciting. The thought of going into the wide unknown for the last 10k is slightly worrying right enough. Oh well I'll know soon enough
I lovely sunny autumn morning in Leamington. A did the park run with the wife. I started at the back of the field and started slowy. Gradually sped up overtaking folk. splits 9:13, 8:28, 7:33, + a little bit at the end. 6 mins behind my PB but a lovely run. Its nice to enjoy a run when you have been missing it !!!

So do I! I guess it's the joys of previously broken bones. That's one of the reasons why I'm thinking about the Insanity Workouts.
