Oh wow I remember the weather being like that ...eck I am glad it looks like its going to be shades weather this time around. Brilliant to watch it back John......even get a glimpse of me running up the last climb at 41.45.....arghhhhhhhh not long now. Just about packed too.
Missed one evening on here and just had to read through pages!
Just back from physio and had scolding for reckless running Monday. Ham still cramping spasmodically despite her gentle ministrations (she refused to give me a pasting) But she also gave me another master class in turkey trussing, I mean kinesio taping so trust her that I will be fine by Saturday.
My superstition is my lucky knickers.
Sorry.
Very, very excited. Will be in Llanberis by lunchtime..
PJL that happened to be my 1st snowdonia bagged 3hr 28,i remember getting out of car at start soaked throw in mins a gust wind blew me onto a barbed wire fence then other runners had to free me at mile 16 my friend who was driving my car and the misses drove past with exhaust hanging next i was on my back under the car taking the rear silencer of then rejoined the race stinking dirty
i can also remember 1 yr when the wind luckily blew from the foot of the hill at waunfawr i blew us all the way upto mile 23
and what about the race that never was i think either 2001 or 2002 when i was cancelled 1hr b4 the start
OK gang, we are ready to go, go, go. Just back from Athletics tournament for about 150 screaming kids aaaarrrrggggggg.
Car backed in dark, who knows what's in there now. Hope the local cat didn't jump in. Well knackered but a good steaming in the bath and hike round the village with dog will perk me up. ffRan, so glad you mentioned knickers. Had a terrible time at one marathon with cheap Asda pants, must re-check selection. It's got to be my M and S pants, or I aint running!!
Just remind me. meeting time at Padarn Hotel?? I'm on a solo trip again due to OH work commitments. Gutted, I can't have any vats of beer now
Ok song list:
Muse-Time is running out (tomorrow) Iron Maiden-Run to the Hills (before and during) Pink Floyd-Comfortably Numb (when in pub and well-oiled)
Take care all travelling tomorrow, may not have contact after tomorrow lunchtime

I will pack in the morning, nursing a red wine hangover
The best weather conditions were back in 1996 when the race started on the opposite side of the road to the old start in Parc Nant Peris.
There were marshals holding up the portaloos to stop them falling over with customers actually pissing or shitting inside them.
I can also remember the transit vans taking peoples kit back to Llanberis were momentarily on two wheels due to the strength of the wind.
Actually 1996 was on par with 2002 with winds easily exceeding 50mph.
I can remember in the news after the race a fair number of trees having been uprooted in Nant Gwynant.
The race standard though was much higher in those day's with finishing times even in such adverse weather conditions around the 2-30 mark.
Nobody has even approached Jeff Normans all time record of of 2-27.
If you can do 2-35 you will normally win the race.
