Hi Matt - I've got a place as my training has been NIL this year. I have contacted a couple of other people who are looking for places so it's first come .......................................
Colour of race numbers - this is apparently for internal admin only, and has no relevance on race day. There will be start pens based on your predicted finish time, but they won't be colour-coded to the number.
I was planning on getting the train into Brighton but have realised too late (park and ride is now sold out)that there are no trains that arrive before the race start, very annoying! Does anyone know of anywhere I'd be able to find a parking space for the day? And preferably at a reasonable price!
Running Brighton half for first time this year, getting excited now! Have I understood correctly that it is a mainly flat course? How does it compare to Great North Run o'r Royal Parks? Thanks Non
NonG - The profile of Brighton is really quite flat. I've uploaded the profiles of my Garmin course details as pictures - click on the pictures to see the full size versions of them... The first one is of the GNR route and the second picture is of the Brighton Half route from last year which I believe is pretty much the same as this year .
I do hope we are out of the cold snap for the race in just over a week! Hope to see you all there!
My daughter has a spare place she cannot run as she fractured her foot and is now only just out of plaster today...not sure how you go about swapping names on timing chips etc.. just message me on here if interested we will be going down on saturday afternoon
I was just wondering what people are planning in wearing, I've only ever run one half marathon before and that was last summer. All of my recent long runs for this Sunday have been in the gym so I don't really know what to wear for the Brighton Half? It's forecast to be 5 degrees and clear skies but I guess that being by the sea might make it colder if it's breezy. I don't want wearing the wrong clothes to ruin my run so any opinions would be great!
I'm going to be wearing long leggings and l/s top and another thin layer on top so I can take off if hot. Will also be wearing my headband which covers my ears and gloves again will whip off according to how I feel. Make sure what ever you wear you have run in them before incase they cause you discomfort rubbing etc. Weather looks good, excited but nervous now! It's best to stick to what works for you. :0)
I'm going to wear long tights ., but my friend will wear her 3/4 or shorts !!
i'll probably go for vest top or short sleeve as i know i get hot as soon as i start !! i'll also wear an old top that i'll throw away at the start and my light weight jacket to keep out the wind if nec and i'll tie it around my waist if too hot !!
weather looks perfect now compared to last week !!
It could be a bit breezy , maybe a head wind as we run towards Hove , but it will be behind us for the last few miles !!
Can't wait now , excited , my friend is flying down from Newecastle today to run , so it's a first half in Brighton for both of us .
I have had to pull my entry due to a knee injury. Would anyone like my entry and entry pack to do the half marathon. I dont want money for it just make a donation to a local charity.
Im in Brighton from tonight onwards. so if anyone fancies it drop me a text etc and i will meet u with the race number and pack.
Thanks guys, I went for a short run yesterday morning in what I was planning to wear, long tights and a long sleeve compression top, after half a mile I was far too hot! I'm now thinking 3/4 tights and a short sleeve top. Hopefully the weather stays as forecast, I'm nervous now but looking forward to it!
NonG - your hotel is in the marina? Just follow the Asda path through the middle of the car park. Go up some steps the through an under pass that goes up hill. You will come out the other end with a blue boarded yard. Go straight on passes the Volts railway station following either the beach path or Material Road until you reach the start.

Book me that place please lyndylou, i have sent you a message!
I'm afraid in the finishing photos for this year you will have to explain that you have not undergone any kind of surgery...
Might be looking for -another- place for a friend as well if anyone else has one but doesn't plan on using it! Message me on here, thanks.

Was thinking it might not be cold enough for the tights on Sunday - we'll see. At the moment shorts and t-shirt.
Good luck all!
