I have been lucky enough to be selected in the Qualifying Time section of the
and I need your vote...but why?
I love running and this has me so motivated (I ran two sessions yesterday, 4miles easy at lunch and 10miles tempo in the evening) so I won't let you down, I promise.
I am trying to achieve the British Championship qualifying time of 2hr 45min and my stretch target is sub 2hrs 40mins, I have the times to back it up too (10mile PB 56:53). However I have never run a PB and it been easy!
I pledge to keep you informed every step of the way through Facebook, Twitter and right here on the forums...starting in about an hour when I get back from that most horrid of sessions…hills!
I will answer your questions and hopefully won't get too lost and excited in the process. So please vote for me at http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/competitions/win-our-christmas-gift-guide-/372.html
Yes, I am Choisty, the dodgy looking one at the bottom!
Thank you!!!

Well done for getting stuck in and starting a thread early on.
Good luck!

I will post regularly if picked so no worries about that I love a good chat about running nearly as much as I love running
I know a lot of people will be vey interested in the training that goes with that kind of target. Good luck.
Cheers Knight Rider.
Seren Nos, there are many and various reasons, mainly new job and my head bobbing above water now, so I though I should take on a bit more! Your vote would be really appreciated and believe me I can spout on about training night and day!
whilst I am a slow runner I do like reading on the threads what the faster runners can do
Just a little marathon background, I ran my first Marathon in '97 completing it in 6hrs 43mins, which involved being overtaken by Rhinos and the sweeper bus, both of which seemed to move very slowly but I couldn't stay with them.
So I gave up running...for a few years
I then got it into my head that I should aim for a sub-3 time, which after two failed attempts 3:34 (Abingdon) & 3:21 (Cardiff). I had another go at Abingdon in 2006 and with excellent prep and a wonderfull day I managed it in 2:54:37. I took London on again, this time 3:32 quicker but got stuck behind fred flintstone and his mates at the start so no sub-3 this time!
Now its time to try again as I've forgotten the pain
SuperCaz, I have to say both of the other two are really nice guys and we had fun at the boot camp, especially in the physio session.
I run about 50 - 60 miles a week at moment, mostly on my own but a couple of times a week with my local club, I also like to run with friends, colleague, well anyone as I enjoy the company. The reason I run is the feeling of freedom and speed as I travel through the air. I struggle to fit training in around life as my job takes me here and there, my kids always need picking-up or I'm tired. But somehow I manage to fit it in, when I'm in the office I run at lunchtimes.
If I miss my target I will try again and I will also try the other route a sub-1:15 half.
You is an afferleet and local ish to me
Do you approve of Marmite ?
A friend just put this togther in honour of the competition!

When it comes to marmite I used to work for a brewery that supplies them and fro loving the stuff I became ambivalent!
