I see on BA already that a couple of flights to various french airports are cancelled from Heathrow tomorrow... but the 3 Nice flights from Gatwick all still showing as OK
The DGAC (Directorate General for Civil Aviation) met this morning and we have been informed that one of the Unions has taken the decision NOT to strike. We have been advised that we must still cancel approx 25% of our operation, including a number of flights specifically from Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris Orly, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
We are continuing to do everything possible to minimise the impact to our customers. All customers on the affected flights will be informed by SMS and e-mail, with up to date information on this page of easyJet.com. For cancelled flights, all our customers will be offered a free of charge transfer to a new flight or a full refund. We strongly advise customers who wish to travel and want to rebook easyJet flights to AVOID rebooking flights for any day between 24th-30th June as there is a high likelihood of further disruption that could cause further cancellations.
Thats sounding slightly more positive from Easyjet.
News this morning said BA were looking to transfer to larger aircraft so potentially the 3 flights from Gatwick and 6 from Geathrow could be managed on 2/3rd the flights, meeting a 25-33% reduction in traffic.
Sh*tty situation for you lot. Hope all comes good in the end and that all the hard work and preparation doesn't go to waste.
I will be in Austria racing Sunday and on Saturday I have the opportunity to pre register for 2015. Although I don't know if I can take advantage on behalf of another (unless I fail this year, I won't be returning next), if there's scope for me to do so, I'm happy to give it a go?
Hi all, I'm off to Austria tomorrow so thought I'd drop in and wish you all luck. At the moment it seems like you need it more for the travel than for the event itself.
Oh, Avalaf, that's pants. Gingers crossed you have inspiration about it's location in a dream or something. Are there no slots for the 4 hour service at the passport office?
The car is loaded. The flight is meant to be departing tomorrow...we are erring on the side of hopeful but you never know.
It is what it is.
Oh and I found one of my Pirate themed pressies earlier whilst looking for contact lenses, so that's good.
A few cross-thread posts going on, with good wishes being shared between, team Nice & team Klagenfurt so for what it's worth... I hope the highlight of this week is not the drama caused by the lazy cheese eating surrender monkeys, that you (& your kit) make it safely to Nice and you all race strong and well. Bon courage.
bonked for the first time ever yesterday - had to stop for some emergency chips. The stomach bug probably did not help. I felt shit.
supposed to do an easy 3-4 hr ride and a 2k swim on a day off work today. I decided to do nothing, and instead serviced Jason the bike - new bottom bracket, chain, actually cleaned Jason........ packed bike
I believe it is the no. 99 bus that will take you to the hotel. The bus should be showing the railway station (Gare or Gare Thiers) as its destination. You can get an "Aero" ticket that will cover the journey & costs ???6.
Info here, sorry but I'm on the iPad & can't do links:

Here's being hopeful and optomistic eh
Was about to copy that it too Dave!
No mention of Nice, fingers and toes crossed!!!
At least we have something to keep our minds from taper madness.
That said I started my taper 3 weeks ago, am benched with bad eye and sore toe. Decided rest was the better option than toiling on.
Neither will stop me racing but want to be fighting fit for stage II of my Ironman world conquest preparations beginning 1st August;
Operation Realistic Go Against Sobering Mediocrity
Talking of impending ORGASM; please can you reply to my text message, Coach?
