You are flying on the swim Melds 12 mins ahead of my measly effort I must get my shit in one sock as we were just about even stevens on the swim at Outlaw 2012
Meldy's mile time is only a tiny bit slower than my 1K, oh well, 2K swum, spin class and 6 mile run as punishment. Is Cat not back from his post mortem yet?
Having had a fairly long break from it for one reason or another I have done a couple of longer sessions and now I will start to put in some 100m reps I think, get some speed back
Did a quick 40 mins run last night after work and hope to squeeze another in before work tomorrow ... failing that it will be Friday!
*slips back onto the thread hoping absence hasn't been noted*
I have actually had an excellent month of training, have got back to running club (well, once) and managed to keep up (with the other slow person but I kept up and did the whole session chatting all the time) quite a bit of turbo and lots of swimming
all this with no further injury (touch wood)
cat - sorry to hear about the pneumonia, take time to get over it properly
haven't had time to keep up on all the forum threads because of work just getting too much, so looking for another job but not sure what
LSR done today, done on minimal food, bonked after 9 miles in freezing conditions, struggled through another one before cramp, had to walk last 2 miles in freezing rain in base layer and shorts. Almost hypo when I got back, food ingested and hot shower done. Fubar!
Shorts? you are a braver soul than I Gazhilla it's bitter out today - better the fubar now than in a race aye? The only cycle I have done without food (I just took some water out with me) was a 45k ride and tbh the last five km was done on the smell of an oily rag and I was talking to my legs just thinking we're almost home didn't do that again. Now I tend to take out more than I need which is better than not enough.
10 mile run done this morning, I ache more now than I did after the 13 mile run I did last week and I did that one a lot faster, go figure...been a bad week regards the swim and bike, missed the swim lesson and fell of the bike, next week will be better!
well it turned out to be a beautiful morning to be out running, despite the headwind as I was going uphill, 10 miles run/walk done and swimming tonight
42 miles on the bicycle including a trip up Leith Hill, rewarded with a huge but healthy lunch, well apart from the red wine. Nice smelling socks then DS.
After lots of d*cking about finally managed to get myself back into the pool this weekend. Wasn't as sh*te as I through still crawl wasn't grate but managed.
Hiya Cake dude, well done on getting back in there. Did you see the Sheffield swimming pool offer I messaged Bookie? It's on my FB Page if you missed it.
100m intervals for me too Melday, preceded by a 6 mile run, and finished with a spin class. Can I recommend that you do not eat a mackerel salad any time before an interval session it is very, very dangerous.

Very true Kate, and the route is very slightly long. Definitely one to savour the scenery

Yay Mathschick, well done.
I have spun and turbo'd and ran a bit and can't wait to get my bike back from the bike mending man tomorrow so I can go outside again.

short run, spin class, some weights then swimming done for me today
not looking forward to a long run in the freezing wind tomorrow morning but I really need to do it
It was 'Free myself up from Fink Sunday' for me today. 10 miles of torchlit cross country running with lots of squidgy mud and lovely big puddles.
My sock is stuffed, mostly with a mixture of trail mud and horse poop.

2 hours z2 turbo sock stuffed.

45 min run, nice and easy in the late sun and only ONE layer .... positively spring like
50 miles on bike, zone 2-3 , just under 16mph. Happy in the wind.
They're a delight Kate, I don't know why I don't treat all my socks like that.
Good biking guys
I managed my zero training weekend (but did manage quite a lot of working hours).
80 miles of training in the bag last week and free to start fresh again this morning.
After lots of d*cking about finally managed to get myself back into the pool this weekend. Wasn't as sh*te as I through still crawl wasn't grate but managed.

Heard about it. I pay a monthly fee for the same pool so don't need it but it looked a good deal Cheers mate.
Great, keep up the good work fella.
100m intervals in the pool ... what larks
1min on 1min off intervals on the bike .. even better
