Another 5 days of antibiotics. Could be 4-6 weeks in total for all symptoms to clear. Dr was happy for me to return to work, and back to tri when I feel ready, providing I feel OK.
I get tired quickly, and breathless, but O2 values ok.
Track last night, 8 miles and A 4K time trial, T25 and turbo this morning, swim tonight. I do hope the other pool users don't mind my buckets of snot....
Cat - yikes, sounds awful. Are we sure its not cancer though? Hopefully the last batch of a/bs will kick it into touch. I guess the 4 - 6 weeks thing is because you will have residual lung damage (physical, not infection). Dont underestimate this though, so please be sensible about what you do when. I dont expect this weather helps much either - cant you get a prescription for some R&R somewhere tropical?
My initial sh!t in one sock aim of getting to the pool was going so so but has sort of died over the last 2 weeks so starting next week monster swim focus all the way to IM Nice
Tropical R&R would be nice, however I only got 3 weeks in the Costa del Berkshire. It's dry indoors though Flyaway.
Correct about the lung damage. Seems to be enough oxygenation of the blood when sat down but I suspect not enough yet for proper training. I may walk round parkrun with the kids at the weekend.
PowermanUK was booked for May 11th. Jury is still out.
Don't take Mrs RBM in the sea just yet..... HC, nice reaction to your tears from your PT! Get well soon Gaz and Cat. 2K swim last night, T25 and 6 mile run this morning, 3 miles tempo, ow. Just heard the Vachery half has been cancelled in July, I'm sure that's goodbye to my race entry fee.
Heard about Vachery this morning. It's set an interesting precedent In that area of Surreyshire. The residents are revolting. I wonder if it'll catch on elsewhere.
On the wellness trail, good news Gaz and Cat. T25, easy 3.5 mile run and swim lesson for me. Contemplating joining a marathon distance mosey on the South Downs on Sunday, why am I so bloody addicted to running. Perhaps for the grape based rewards afterwards.
Such good work HC, shifting a few kgs is the thing I am struggling with the willpower to do, do you follow a diet or just cut out the rubbish? I eat hardly any junk, I just eat an awful lot of everything else. Reined myself in today for a T25, 2 hour turbo and 2 hour run. Yoga later to finish off a big old week of training. sounds like a lot of turbos were in action yesterday.
I didnt have much time and I very nearly wimped out of a run but decided I could shoehorn in about 45 mins I am very glad I did, some nice little miles and mostly all 9.**m/m bar one in to a firking strong headwind!

Bloody hell 4-6 weeks. Definitely man flu (nods head sagely)
I get tired and breathless too, but that's just because I'm not very good at this training lark. If I have man flu I have real problems.....
Just short of 9 miles run
Good pace (for me)
All the hills I would usually sneak in a walk break were conquered
A good day
Cat, do you record HR? If so, may be time to start looking at a daily RHR
Nice run Melds. Wel Jel!
The past couple weeks it has been about 60ish. I'd expect it to be low 50s when fully rested, from what I saw some time ago. I shall test tomorrow
That stuff rocks, well done Meldy.
Cat - I hope those antibiotics do the job.
Cheers DS. This lot is more of a sweeper, just in case the last 2 lost missed anything.
Forgot to measure RHR

Tropical R&R sounds like a very good idea Cat.
i just did a 45 min spin in the red zone averaging about 90% HRM and the came home to a congratulations you're in Ride London ballot mag
Hope Mrs RBM is on the mend.

Hill interval ith COLT Tri flu run session, severely lacking in motivation but done, about 7 miles in total .
Seems that r and r is needed IC5
Mrs RBM came home yesterday Cat and is recovering nicely
Yay for Mrs RBM!
Yay for Mrs RBM and sunny hugs for Cat.
I cried on my PT today. I'm rather But at least I managed to stem the flow before it turned into a torrent.
He returned the favour by increasing the weight on the Olympic bar and so turned it into a good session.
Get your head down Gaz and rest up.
Great news RBM!

I reckon they caught it from Henley
FYI, HR at 54 this morning.
Feeling better, did 1hr sufferfest last night, good power and hr's. Coached swim session tonight. .

Swim was good if a little easy , hoping for 2hr bike but weather might mean 2hr turbo and run!
Sock is very muddy and wind blown 1 hr run and 2 hr turbo later during rugger.
Another 1.5lb off this week reaching the magic 2 stone now. Yay me
Consolidated with a 90 min turbo this morning and I took my sock for a swim yesterday.
Another two pounds and I'll be the same weight I was when I finished IMCH in 2009. It feels like a significant landmark.
That's brilliant HC, a landmark indeed!
After a week of being mostly in bed feeling crap, I've stuffed my sock with a nice easy turbo yesterday and a 90 min run today so I must be better
