I have to admit I am still nervous of joining a club. Which is daft as I know lots of club runners through parkrun and they are all lovely. Maybe one day...
Lainey, I would recommend it although you have to try a couple to see what is the best one for you. I was a member of a club for a few years and loved it but just needed a change.
Ecky Glad you had a good time at your new running club.
Lainey I am in a running club too and although I don't go every week there is always a run to do if I wanted even outwith club dates.Great for motivation too and a whole bunch of new running friends...then your other friends don't get fed up of you talking about running all the time ha ha oh and shared car for races also.....go on join up girl
Just a weight session for me today at the gym. I did 7 miles yesterday though with 5 of them at hopefull HM pace
Waiting in for parcel delivery today.NEW SHOOZIES.............yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Yes Lainey- I think joining my running club 3 years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have made a load of friends interested in a similar activity & we often go to races together and socialise, I would not have run a marathon if I hadn't joined a club. I go usually every week and often on a sunday as well + occasional mid week/pub runs!!!
Well done on your run Franny...not long now before I come up to Edinburgh looking forward to meeting up.
Did a 6.5 miler this morning 1st run since Monday as I wanted a couple of days off.
Thanks guys, will definitely start looking around and talking to people. Good to hear you've all had great experiences.
Nice little 3 miler this morning. Saw a little hedgehog on the pavement which was cute. Am loving running at the moment. The marathon has certainly inspired me.
No running clubs near me but would definitely join one if I could.
Well done on your runs guys. Hoping for an outside run this evening while daughter is swimming. No school today so I can take her for a change and I can run on the track next to the pool.
Chili, good to see you are recovering well. It's sad you won't be able to do that marathon in August, but there will be plenty of other races in the future.
On the subject of races I am going to take my deffered place for Brighton. My sister persuaded me to do it in memory of my Mum and Dad,and to earn some money for the MS society.I will have to juggle it with college,as it looks likely I may be able to go on with my studies and turn my expected BTEC Certificate into a Diploma. So i'll have another 2 terms at college next year. But I'm sure I can squeeze it all in.
Hope everyone is ok at the moment, and our marathon runners are nicely recovered now.
My running plans have been a bit disrupted by illness this week.I was going to go out yesterday afternoon, but had a migraine,so I had to call it off.So I will now try tomorrow if I feel ok.
Jude well done on the 80 lengths in the pool and hope you got out your run.
Deejay That is a lovely thing to do and run in memory of your mum and dad. Plenty time to get the mileage up so don't be worrying about that. Good luck with the college course. Your gonna be busy.
13 miles for me and Chico this morning in my new lunarglides
Jude-Well done on 80 lengths you and your family are obviously very good swimmers.
DJ-As Franny says that is a great thing to do. Whilst I have gone for the London Marathon and have a 66% chance of a club place I am thinking of entering Brighton as a fall back if I don't get a London place...or do I do something stupid like do both.
Franny-Liked your lunar glides very girly colour.
7.3 mile club run this morning..am enjoying not having to do long runs for the moment.
DJ - Good decision about the Marathon. Good luck with the training and the college course.
Franny - well done on your run! Your shoozies looked lovely on facebook.
AF - hope you get your London place. Well done on your run.
5 mile run 'outside' on Thursday and a swim yesterday evening. Hoping for a run again today. Hubby has taken boys swimming and music lessons and I'm taking daughter to her violin lesson and swimming training this afternoon. So glad hubby helps out sooo much. Now time for another cuppa and some ironing.
Jude - there is so much ferrying involved with kids, isn't there? My OH does most of the ferrying, luckily it generally isn't too far
AF - it is possible to do both, treating one as a training run rather than a race, 'racing' both would be tough. You probably know by know how long it takes you to recover from a marathon and whether both is a good idea for you or not
BOSS BOSS!!!! you doin an ultra wiv me ??? coooooooolllllllll.......
that's fab , I am sooo glad you have entered that because you will find it a doddle . I think the entry fee for that has increased from last year and theres more places?
whats the date?? im still not sure what im doing in October as I wanted to enter the skyrunning event on the 4th so will have to see if im doing that or not.
yikes ive tried to read through all the posts-im sooooo behind sorry everyone , I will go back n have a good ol read next chance I have . stuff gets so busy and I don't know where the time goes! May is choka as its miss LLBs birthday on 16th , am taking her and a friend to Harry Potter world in/near Watford on the 11th , and then out for tea with a friend on her actual birthday. later that evening I willm hopefully paying By'eck and family a visit as NDW50 is the next day ! eek!!!!!
Didn't manage a run yesterday as Big girl shared her bug, off for a plod this morning as only got 5 weeks to the Great Midlands which is 8.5 miles and quite hilly in places. I need to try the costume out too although I will get some chafe cream as sequins are bound to rub
I wonder how or SPARTAK got on yesterday at the HOKA Highland Fling Ultra..he was doing it as part of a relay....Hope he got on well. Members from my running club who were doing the whole 53 miles all thoroughly enjoyed it and lots of PBs and prizes.
ecky - I was up a bit too late to get the bike ride in that I should have done, but I had promised to take the kids out on their bikes so we had a nice ride together

Morning, warm croissants anyone?
No running for me since Tues as just been busy running round after a poorly Big Girl and a teen who has been having a week long 15th bday celebration
I have decided I am going to start doing a lot more cross training as I do just run and am always plagued by injury.
Jude 80 lengths is amazing. I am swimming on Mon but will be lucky to do half of that.
DJ, I hope you are feeling better now.
Boss, I hope you get London, we could all try and meet up before the race. How much gap is there between the two races.

Thanks Franny, feel much better today although only managed 2 miles as sore achillies ( not sure if that's the correct spelling.
Middle Ecky just went for a plod too and did 1 mile. She doesn't run much and wont run with me because I talk too much
I just have to do a test run at parkrun in a couple of weeks to iron out and problems.
That's great Ecky..............you will be fabby
I wonder how or SPARTAK got on yesterday at the HOKA Highland Fling Ultra..he was doing it as part of a relay....Hope he got on well. Members from my running club who were doing the whole 53 miles all thoroughly enjoyed it and lots of PBs and prizes.

Ecky, that's brilliant! Love the costume!
53 miles! Unbelievable!
That's a shame but lovely that you had a nice ride out with the kids Mathschick.
Thanks Lainey, just have to run in it now although I don't think it will be too difficult just hot.
