Oh! I am so indecisive! I really fancy this but my husband knows the area really well and he knows me far too well and he was less than confident of me actually being able to manage it. Rearrange these words - a cat hells not chance in! That's what he said, ooow! What is more annoying still is that I can't remember him ever being wrong about any of my mad schemes, (positive as well as negative!)
This is going to sound a silly and rather naive question, but I've just realised that this is really close to my 1st half marathon. I'm doing the half in Blackpool on the 20th June. What do you think, how long does it take to recover the use of your limbs after such a thing? I've noticed that I found my training runs after my first 10k last month hard, in fact I had to build back up with walking breaks. Is this just because I'm unfit and haven't been eating healthily over Christmas and have put on weight or is it normal after a race?
Which makes life very difficult for the likes of me!! Its 3 weeks isn't it tortoise? Well, don't run at all the week after Blackpool and just do a little running for a week and a half then relax and enjoy the walk. bit different from Blackpool though eh? I'll be doing the Potteries that day, at least its got hills in it.
some of us, like me, avoid the hills at all costs ... course being a Yorkshire gal I know there will be no hills at Lyke Wake ... and there is no need to put me right
Thats ok then ... I will be prepared for this tho, I've started training already, I'm going to do one long walk a week, increasing the distance each time
Gawwd, can you ever be prepared for something like this
oh yes i did trailwalker(managed 4o) on v little training really i mean i was running, and i did moonwalk mara i wlaked 20 miles or so in the boots split up and did about 20-30 miles per week additional walking for a month before
I want to be prepared tho, I dont want a DNF, so 25 miles by the end of January, then 35 by the end of Feb, with a couple of walk marathons thrown in for good measure
I'll get me hair shaved then and wear a wig, my legs'll be giving me enough greif fanks ... so instead of dragging me by my hair, you can drag me by my wig
hope theres a nice cool G+T at the finish line, never mind a glass of water ... after 42 miles, that's the least they can offer me!!
Comments
(Im walking it)
Its a staggered start
peeps do walk this
theres a cut off of 12 hours
spose that means more training then, to get under 12 hours ... where does it all end ?
its only 3.5 mph
youll be fine
yeah!
well I'm gonna do it, no matter what, I'm on a mission with this
Boo-Hoo!
Good luck to you all!
dont be silly
i did this in unbroken in walking boots with no training years ago
the only reason it took 17 hours was a whinging wimpy B/F
different muscles
its a walk
Normal to feel knackered, thats fine
recovery wisdom says one day per mile raced
Blimey does that mean I have to take seven weeks A/L after this ?
