According to the results on www.herculeschallenge.com, John Brown did finish the chariot event, in 11:20, (i.e.: 5 hours after Keith Longey). That wasn't clear from yesterday's program, and must have taken a huge effort by the fell runner.
There seem to be a few things coming out in interviews which just aren't apparent in the broadcasts, like all the anchors being lightened half way through that event due to technical problems, and retakes of some of the footage after each event concludes...
Anyway - Mike Dixon has an hour to make up to stay in tonight - can he do it???
Also, does anyone know if the times are zeroed when they're down to the last 3? Otherwise, Lee Rankin starts with a 2-4 hour advantage, which will present the other 2 with quite a challenge.
I thought things had run a bit too smoothly. They have a lot of mechanical stuff there, and somethings gonna go wrong. I'm impressed with the sets - they must have a huge area to build on.
I reckon they will zero it for the last triathlon event. Otherwise it might already be over.
Well they've got the spinning water thing tonight, then they've got to build a stairway, and hold they're breath in a tank on days 10&11, (not sure which way around).
I can't see them zeroing before the tri on day 12, (otherwise what's the point of the non knockout days 10&11), but maybe they'll zero after the elimination today???
The tri has to be 3 shorter length events - doesn't it?
Got this from the website, looks like they are doing something tonight. I haven't got a telly but been reading the thread and it sounds like it is going well. I hope Mike can do it but it is loking tough.

Wilko held it before Gethin. And he did it in an HPV as well. I think he still holds that one.
Apparently he's tested higher than Boardman in the lab, but he was never one to take his riding as seriously as Chris did. Wilko likes the recreational side of things. Amazing stamina. I think he rode to Leeds and back to watch the Leeds Classic last time it was on.
Well that was a joke wasn't it? Who gives a shite who gets motion sickness or not - I know it's only a silly TV show but why put them through so many days of physical torture and then decide to introduce a piss take event like this. How long you can hold your breath is a similar piss take surely. Lee Rankin was the real winner whatever happens from now is just crap - although my money is on the cyclist.
Extreme endurance events can be as much mental as physical. The event tonight happened to be more mental so it has my respect. Didnt hear any of the competitors complaining about the content of the task.
i thought that was a good event. and a chance to use some intelligence and mental discipline to overcome a challenge as well as just brawn.
again i think the holding their breath thing will strongly favour those who work out the best strategy and don't just go in there and see how long they can hold their breath for!

From cycling I'd like to see Malcolm Elliott have a go if they repeat this again next year (and they must do).

Elliott might be good !
;o)
poor widdle gym-bunny.
Hey - did I mention my thighs were sore after the weekend ? I NEED the physio. Ed - you are just pretending !

But you get some very pretty girls doing it, so more televised events please.
