I reckon he was just playing the wounded shoulder. 5 minutes before the rock throwing he reckoned he reinjured his shoulder and was in agony - then he goes and wins it.
You're right, popsider. I've had shoulder injuries (broken, dislocated and 'frozen' at various times) and I could never have done what he did with a bad shoulder.
I know how Extreme Gym Champion - Leeeee Rankin feels now.
I really liked that prog.
If we'd put two and two togther though - we might have guessed that Six times olympic Biathlete Mike Dixon would have won. His wife set up the www.herculeschallenge.co.uk website. Doh !
Good interviews on there - including this one from John Brown :
'Thought I was taking it less seriously than everyone else, especially when me and Des loaded two boxes of beer on the bus and everyone else took sport drinks. '
There were 2 of the Hercules competitors doing the dry-tri. Results are on: www.dbmax.co.uk.
Enjoyed the exhibition, especially getting my swimstroke analysed briefly in the Endless Pool, but pissed off 'cos I had to pull out of the 10k as my knee was playing up.

WHO WON?!?!?
Uk Quatrathlete champoint Keith Longley was Second
and Third was record breaking endurance cyclyist Andy Wilkinson (he had a knackered knee)
Must be nice for Mike to actually win some thing. I'll read the interviews when i get back from training
Did his arms fall off when they took all the bandages away?
I meant wounded soldier - is that an expression or just something my mum used to say ?

Oh. Forgot.
Didn't like him.
(oh OK - he had a certain charm, but don't tell Will I said so)
Apparently he was racing the day before the event started - so he didn't arrive early and refreshed like the rest of them. Pretty tuff cookie.
Obviously a little self love going on there - and why not too.....
I'd have changed my name by deed poll by now if I'd have won.
Look what we missed out on on E-bay :

Only Mr. Ruflleable Hercules himself !
