POST run pastries? You mean we're not allowed to eat them till after? image
  • Options
    NellsNells ✭✭✭

Nope, you've got to do the full marathon first. It's The Rules. You get to eat everything in sight afterwards though...

Nells - what about taper? Surely you can eat everything during taper too?

Nells - Can you add me to the list for the Bupa 10K on May 30th please?

I haven't been up to much. Went for a 60 mile cycle ride that hot weekend that we had a couple of weeks ago and have been taking it very easy on the running.

Well done to all who have raced and got PB's recently, including Aspirant Runner, Mr KS and Chris Field.

Good luck to all running Copenhagen and Richmond this Sunday, along with those running Manchester, Worcester and the Ox.

Baldstan - Would love to do Beachy Head one year too and no I haven't been in hiding due to our relegation image

I may go for a Garmin 235 too. I have been having problems with my Suunto Ambit3 for the last few weeks since they decided to make an update to their Movescount Software which had been working well. My watch will no longer pair with either the app or my computer and so I am left unable to sync my data. I have only had generic responses from Suunto (lack of) technical support team and am almost at the stage where I cut my losses with their products.  I also currently wear a Mio HR Watch on the other wrist and have been looking at a Garmin 235 for a while.

List Fairy - Could you please add me to the list for the Wharfedale Trail Half on the 4th June. I've always been scared off this event as it's very hilly, there's a 2000 ft climb, and you have to carry a lot of kit with you, but after 1 glass of wine too many last night decided to go for it!

Ha Ha Karen Bowman image. How many races have been entered that way!

Hope everyone had a good weekend running, be it parkrun, muddy halves, marathoning, ultraing or ironmanning, all of which featured on the list last week! I was/am in Wales, so typically my parkrun started in glorious blue skies and sunshine, but finished in a torrential downpour! Had a lovely explore yesterday in the sun though and found a nice new path I didn't know existed so I'm adding that to my routes in these parts. Hopefully next time it won't be quite so boggy and I'll actually be able to run most of it.

Look forward to hearing all the reports from the weekend! Looks like another busy stalking weekend coming up too...

    That's a list and a half!

Well I survived Copenhagen. Great event, better company, but way too warm. I now very much have a Scottish tan and could fry eggs on my face and arms.

    Hi All,

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I did the Worcester half and it was quite a hilly course so I was really happy to set another PB of 1:38:55 beating my previous from last weekend by 45secs so running feels really good at the moment. Looking forward to next weekend in Liverpool!!

Well done Eggyh 73 and hopefully running rodent for your Copenhagen efforts.

Another Copenhagen survivor with sunburn here! Forgot that when you're racing in a vest rather than a t-shirt you have to put sunscreen on your chest too - ow!

Nice race - very twisty course that doubles back on itself a lot, but that does mean it stays within the city. A lot of stretches with no shade though. I wasn't running this one flat out as it was a training run for later in the summer, but if I'm honest I think if I'd tried to run it quickly I would have blown up anyway. Good place for a weekend, though.

Thank you, and sorry for making people 'bawl' image

Mine was waiting for me when I got home this evening & I joined in the bawling.

I'm pleased they got over the message that I wanted. A fitting memorial and the impact you guys have had on me over the past 456 days.

There were a few other bits covered in the interview they obviously couldn't fit in. Maybe I'll post them some time, but essentially they just amount to the same thing ..... this group of people are awe inspiring. Perhaps we sometimes take it for granted that someone will be there when we need advice or comfort, I don't.

    Thank you all

    xxx

Nodster - stop it - you'll set us off again image

Good luck Dannir - I am horribly jealous of your trip to Comrades this year, to the point where I might have to exercise my signing-up finger again in September. I'm sure if I sit down for a while the feeling will go away. Although I haven't been missing the waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night feeling, round about March, when the whole thing feels impossible. You've done all the hard work, just coast downhill to Durbanimage
