I am hoping to shift my fat butt of the bench and actually run tomorrow....I have forgotten how to run what does one do it has been so long!!!!So you can have all the hugs from the male forumites I know you don't want to share them;-)
Hippo
You are NOT fat so there!!!!
ALF: Always a little further Miles makes smiles. Progression
After a week of having a dodgy ankle and feeling very depressed about it, I went out tonite hit a fair pace and no reaction.
Thank goodness for that. 7 miles in 51 minutes and I felt good.
3 things:
- Some dog owners are complete morons. I almost got attacked by this geezer's dog and he did nothing to call it off, I think he found it a laugh. Tosser. - I had a young herbert running with me for 200 m! I thought he was taking the mick at first, but I think he just wanted to test himself out. - After I finished running I was walking back thru town. Dressed in a fluorescent mac, shorts, tech top and running shoes. I got asked by a lad - "Have you got a light?"
I really really really don't want to tempt fate here.
After what seems like ages, but is in fact only 3 months the niggly pulled muscle in my @rse appears to feel much better now. (Touches wood so hard he gets splinters).
Did a session of sprints today as part of a taper. Hope it works. Followed it by a cold bath. Planned for 5 minutes, but toughed it out for 10 minutes. Toes turning blue by the end. It was very tingly and pleasant when I swapped it for the 10 minutes hot bath.
Crikey, so many people on the illness/injury bench. I reckon I need to give y'all a Massive 'nrg' Boost:

- in a brotherly sort-of way!!!
This evening did just over 1hour, ran 6.43miles, just under 10min/mile at aveHR=LT-35 (56%WHR). Thanks to Pantman, the strategy of taking it easy this week ie only doing hour long LT-20 runs have paid off. Calves are fairly relaxed and I feel ready to resume Base Training from next week.
Busy day tomorrow so might take an additional rest day. Sunday I'm running Brentwood HM - my third and final HM. It's a flat course, but I won't be racing though I really want to (I wonder what time I could get?)
URR: I expect a cracking time from you !!
After that just have months of base training. I would love to post racing PBs etc etc but in the meantime I know I have to be patient and make do with posting fairly monotonous training info instead.

Blisters, I'm impressed by your toughness! Hope the muscle is completely healed, three months is ages because four weeks is a long time.
well
they dont count
er, there arent 6 in the pack are there
Hipps, just think how much fat you're burning off by running. I don't think ultra-runners are meant to diet!
Barabara, the running made me feel great, it was only the dog-owner who stressed me. The lad who asked for a light made me bust up.
oh really bryan
well, i must be eating even more, as im expanding
maybe i should diet
yes i should
bollox
sorry, this is the traiing thread

Good vibes to you all.
Good luck all racers this weekend. I will (entry permitting) be racing a 10k on Sunday @ half marathon pace after today and Sat as rest days.
