Since Benz tried last Sunday at Reading to talk me into this one I have now got a bit interested and wondered if there is a few going to do it. Has anyone other than Benz entered and booked accommodation yet?
Hi Benz. Just checking cos Snails Pace and I were thinking of it but am not sure because if she gets a concert around that date she will cancel and I don't fancy a trip myself so would like to book hotel where others are going to be on safe side. Doesn't mean you have talked me into it just yet though.
Right I am going to take the plunge and say I will do it. Will book time of work tomorrow for this, will send off entry on pay day (can you enter on line) will book flights asap to get cheapest and then we can co-ordinate hotel. Now does that sound positive or what???? Now all I have to do is train for it. That might be the hard part!!!!!
Come then everyone else out there that is interested - lets have a party weekend!!!!!
I'm doing this. Not booked the race yet, but as it's half term have booked some cottages in the Wicklow Mountains with others who are also running it. The Wicklow mountains are only about an hour from Dublin but (apparently - I've never been there despite my Irish blood) offer a complete contast to the liveliness of Dublin. We're just travelling up to Dublin Sunday night then back to the cottages monday evening
Hi- everyone- another mad person who has been bitten by the excuse to get to Dublin- I will probably be coming with a party of 6-10 other runners. has anyone any suggestions as to where to stay. Sort of place we will be after is a small hotel(with baths)
Looked at flights from Edinburgh. Sat flight out 39.99 Tuesday flight back £9.99. Will enter race and book flights next week. Also need to book time off work,
Benz, let me know which hotel you book and I will book same. Haven't looked at any yet but presume you are looking in City centre.
Hello! My sister and I are doing this as our first marathon!! Booked flights and accommodation through Air Wales, the large Welsh airline!! Jurys Inn, good location, going out Friday, coming back Tuesday, so a bit of time to enjoy the sights before the race. Must be mad!!
We paid £80 return from stansted last year - if you can get cheaper now do- 'cos the race is on the Irish bank holiday (monday)- & flights get more expensive nearer the time on most carriers -
A small tip - look at the date on the voucher you download from Book a hotel or whatever site you use. Last year my voucher had the right date but 2004 by mistake and the hotel had not made a booking. It was apparently quite common. It was sorted but only because there was space, and phone calls were made. As for this year - tempting, thinking of NY but with ballot rather than a tour company, so Dublin still looking good for another visit.

Lovely place, Dublin. the National Gallery you can spend all day in and I did.
We stayed at the Mespil which is just off Bagot Street Bridge and in walking distance of the start, finish and registration hall.
We will be flying from Nottingham East Midlands (as we have to call it now, even though it is in Leicestershire and nearer to Derby).
