Back to running this week after nearly no running for 2 weeks. Have managed 7 miles with knees taped (physio's advice)and been managing to run on alternate days with very little probs. With only 5 weeks to go and 7 weeks since the last long run (Dartmoor) is this still possible?
Was thinking of nipping up to this whilst on hols in Yorkshire, but just measured the distance today and it's not very near at all. I must suffer from (southerner's)distorted perspective. A drive of 219 miles, a run of 35, and then another drive of 219 miles. Is this feasible in a day, anybody?
I know you wouldn't think twice about it, fellrunner.
The luck could well be changing Fellrunner, thanks. Ran 17 miles on Saturday with knees taped & no pain. Was tired though. I'm going to try a 20+ mile run this weekend & will decide then. Ever the optimist, I've started tent-hunting!
Good to hear you're running again MrsMac. I'm going to send my entry off today.
Did a 50k yesterday in the most horrendous heat I have ever run in, over 30 degrees and humid.
T Rex - The most driving I've done in a day is about 250 miles each way but i prefer not to do over 150 each way. Perhaps you could drive up the evening before and drive back after the race.
Not very well MrsMac. I wanted to do sub 6 hours but could only manage 6.33, it was the toughest conditions I have ever known. I believe nearly a third of the field were DNF's. Shame really as it was a lovely course and very well organised.
I only did a 10 mile race and that was bad enough. Don't know how you did it, Shades.
Even the Yorkshire bit of my trip doesn't look like it's coming off, so it's looking doubtful if I'll feature this year. Training has also been well below par.
I wish you all well, and that the probs resolve themselves quickly for you, MrsM.
I did!! The website isn't working - perhaps it's the storms up here causing chaos! Can't believe after all this I can't enter for the sake of an entry form, boohoo.
MrsMac - it is working, have just gone straight onto the website and to the entry form. Sorry but that's a pathetic excuse not to enter! I haven't entered yet myself.
fellrunner - I will be very slow, I am particularly slow at off road!
MrsMac - knee problems in the Mac family a thing of the past hopefully. Have you booked your accommodation?

My friend Peter will be running despite having a stress fracture earlier this year. He is trying to reach (and then break) the record for completing the most 2B's. I think he's 2 away from the current record.

I'm staying in the Forth Craig at Inverkeithing, as long as they haven't given my room away! It's very easy to find.

Is it only me & you Shades or is anyone else going?

We're camping! Hope this rain stops by then.
Really quite looking forward to it now.
