Lovely race, quiet rural roads. Out section, then 2 laps and back, but the finish is not all the way back to the start point. Flat, couple of small undulations. Very reasonable entry fee (£7).
silly question time shades !where do i get the entry form ???
I can also help with suggestions for hotels , B & B's etc if anyone needs any info just give me a shout & i will gladly point you the direction of some damn fine & some not fine if needed places to stop !!!
BRT - I think it's Glos AC website, no on line entries though so good old snail mail. Probably a link to their website via the Events section on this website.
I'll be driving up on the day, only about 100 miles from me.
Shades it is indeed on their web site. 4 hr time limit & having not yet run anything near this distance i am not sure if i would make it round in time.
Shades-never run more than 8 miles in one hit quite new to this game.I am following the rw 14 programme(which i picked up at week 4 because i was well above weeks 1-3)i am now on week 7 i have my 1st 10k at bourton on the water this weekend !was that a "you must be mad if you think you will make it around the flm" you were about to post then ??????
BRT - no I wasn't, but I would expect your longer run to have been more than 8 miles by now. My marathon trainees (all first timers) are on 15 miles and slightly behind schedule but not seriously so. they'll do an 18 miler training run and then a 20 mile race on either the 6th (Glos) or 13th (Duchy) and maybe one long run after that.

Hello Shades - be good to see you again. I'll almost certainly be at the GWR again too (1st May?)
I still only have one speed, and that's a slow plod...
Whats the story on this race, is it any good, well organised etc, any info gratefully accepted

Nice friendly marshalls good race organisation.
Will be doing it slow and steady with my heart rate monitor on (have turned into a HRM bore)
Did it in 3.14 last year and would be more than happy with a similar time this year but just going to enjoy the run and not worry about it.
Got my number back, like JW, there are several from our club coming over for this one. Looking forwards to it.
Enjoy:-)
But this year I have Rome marathon on 13th March so it doesn't fit to do a 20 the week before...I'm doing Reading half instead.
I'll be back to the Gloucs 20 next year
Tell me more about the cakes!
