hi I can't make up my mind whether to give the full marathon a try. I did the half last year (and the one in Feb as well) and have just done London. My marathon time is well over 5hrs though, would I be too slow for this one - would it be too lonely at the back? Am I being daft thinking about doing another marathon two months after London? I know hippo does loads of marathons close together but she is made of steel and I am more like jelly!
notice the accountant had to reorganise into numerical order.
I'm still dawdling, will run home from work tonight (12miles) necessitating a run into work tomorrow morning and see if I fall by the wayside or in the canal.
TT - I ran London too. That was my third marathon in 3 years. Now I'm going for 3 in a year!
Am not too worried about the time really, expect to be around 4.30. Most people have told me that I will probably run this one slower than London due to the lack of recovery before running again.
It's just the experience - I think I have become addicted to it.
Two months is plenty of time for recovery isn't it? PH if I can run sub 3:30 I should have time to nip over and run the last 10k with you assuming you stick to a 5 hour schedule.
Paul - just stick a time down if you have a goal, or don't if you don't - it's that easy!
In my head I would like to get something around 3:45, but in real life (and knowing how broken my legs are currently feeling) I would be happy with something under my marathon PB of 4:19.
Definately, last time in 2003 I was after a sub 3:30 and went through halfway in 1:45, unfortunately despite vast experience of similar conditions I forgot to allow for the heat and the effort from running into the wind! Finished in 4:10 after walking most of the last 10K

hm
i suppose i have my number too
Ron will the half marathoners eat the sandwiches before the marathoners are back (or at least all the good ones <sandwiches that is >)
There will only be a two, maybe three varieties of sandwiches. They will be in a fridge van, so will be nice and fresh for EVERY runner.

3:59 seems like a good comprimise.
so much is down to the day as well isn't it?
