Just to point out....NEWCASTLE AND SUNDERLAND ARE NOT THE SAME!!!!! and even though i have a moral oppostion to Sunderalnd being form the Toon, jsut cos we're north of watford gap doesn't make us scotish! Not that there is anything wrong with the scots though. Got my number today i'm 7139. Has there always been a cut off time?
GF - you shouldnt sink when aqua jogging. No good in teh shallow end cos you just bang our feet on the bottom. I think you may have misunderstood the concept. You do not run with your feet on teh bottom of the pool. you wear the belt so that you keep upright. Interesting to hear your footscan comments. The first time I bought shoes I had to roll up my trousers and they watched me walk, they also looked at my shoes and told me I was neatral. Was then surprised when footscan said overpronate. Should have stuck with teh original diagnoses!! The footscan involved me running without socks. After that I went on a treadmill and they did a video analysis. Went to two differnt peoeple and they both said the same thing - neatral but with a mild overpronation in one foot.
Is anyone planning on running the route before the event in training at a slow pace? I seem to remember a few weeks back someone was saying they would. I wouldnt mind a practice go at somewhere around 9.5 min mile or slower
Oh gee, I've started something here... I didn't say that Sunderland was the same as Newcastle. And if anything north of watford is Scotland, then I'm Scottish too. Mind you, us Salopians are often considered Welsh, so the generalisations run east-west as well as north-south.
Help me, somebody! I think I've started civil unrest amongst the forumites! They're getting restless! Ugh, I'm off to France, the evenings are more peaceful there.... (not taking my car though!)
But muddy... I don't think you need to worry too much about the cut-off. I got the impression its the same every year. They seem really well organised, so it should be a good 'un.
can't really comment to be honest i've not live in Newc for over 7 yeasr now....still up north though....would never consider the south..although it is warmer here in notss than anywhere i've lived in the UK before. Nae bother G-F some and i don't really have anything against mackems.....
very windy hear as well not very good running weather , mick - going to have a good think in the new year about the notts math,it just means moveing my mileage up a bit ,

I;m not that nasty i would never stick pins in a gf doll! if we're going to put Notts n Derby in Wales then doesn't that, in geographical terms make Brum Ireland and London France?
other than.....NO! I've got at least 3 brain cells - 2 more than most from sunderland! Do you do tri? Have you done or watched the Sun city tri off seaburn? Is it woth a go? Although that does mena a visit to sunderland....and swimming in the sea....
k-g I'm hopiing to be able to do the course beforehand at a slow pace, but not sure when (if) I can can find the time. I might make the Sunday before, depending how I feel after Seagrave, but if so it will be at a very slow pace. When were you thinking of?
muddy-nor i havnt tryed tri but i do know about the sun city tri-i live in seaburn!!!I can get you some info about it if you want,my daughter goes swimming where the sun city club are based,so wouldnt be a problem.Im going into the north sea on boxing day for the dip, which about 1000 people take part for various charities.
Flanker - i think thats a really good idea, i did that before i did it the second time, but i cut off part of it by going straing on to widmerpool rather than going right up to willoughby as i was pushed for time but i think it still did me a lot of good. GF- are you a scouser? I lived in Liverpool for 3 years and never heard anyone say that....although one woman threatened to hit me if i even went anywhere near her drink....i got scared and ran away
Mick - that'd be cool if you don't mind. You're a brave man going into the north sea on boxing day! Please tell me you're going in a wet suit! I might have to come n watch (or maybe take part - any info on that?) as i'll be home in newc for xmas
Anyway, this thread is going crazy so I've got to disable e-mail notification so I can get some work done. See you all later, and please stop fighting. St.B - shouldn't you be in bed?
