Good run, Flatish and quick, the only hill of significance comes at about 9-10 miles and it is a pig, but beware you come back down the other side (which is steeper). This resulted in black toenails the last time I ran it.
Seriously tempted by this - I like the course, nice & flat except for that lovely hill. Managed a PB 1st time I ran it. Missed it last year, due to the Loch Ness Marathon. I'm doing Abingdon Mara' this year, which is the week after. Should be able to squeeze a half in the week before, without spoiling my taper - what do you reckon people?
Half before a Marathon, possible but DONT race it you just won't recover in time, also watch that downhill!! Chip times this year, hopefully they've sorted out the dodgy start/ finish area on the field. (bit of a bottle neck as I remember)
I was on a roll last year, scoring a pb at the Henley half (1:36) then a pb as well at Abingdon (3:58) the following Sunday. Don't think that'll happen this year though :-(
I am new to this however applied ages ago to do the Henley Half as my first run. Its def. a run, not a race for me, as I am attempting 2hrs plus not like the speedy times I have been reading.
Have heard nothing at all and am getting worried as I didn't get into Bristol and have set this as a personal challenge for 2005.
Does anyone have a tel. no so that I can check or have they only now started to send stuff out?
I seem to recall that everyone starts at the sam time. The six mile course and the i/2M course is initially the same but the 6 milers peel off back to the start after 6 and the 1/M carry on. I am not sure if you can opt out or in halfway around
I'll see you there on the day BK. Pondering my target time now. Lurching towards 8 m/m for first 6 miles or so then picking it up for a 1:40-ish finish. BUT ... full mara a week later, so no going daft. We'll see!
Usually I'd suggest running together but as you've got Abingdon the week after I'll leave you to your own devices. If you catch me up on the hill then that's a different matter

If you can get to Reading before 9am, when the bus leaves it should be doable.

Why not email the organizers - website is henleyhalfmarathon.org.uk.
That's what I wanted to do at Windsor, but somehow managed to finish.
