Thankyou all, I am very very sad, but you have all cheered me up today. She was 97.. never ill for all those years then goes and has appendicitis. But her whole family was together with her jsut the week before for a wonderful sunday, all 25 of us, and she was fab and looked 70 right to the end. You can;t be too sad when someone has lived such a long and full life... its just that when they live that long you kind of think that they will always be there... x
Charlie.. I had to go before down-downs (cubs first day bcak at school today) so do not know who you are! I was the badger obv (the one with aqua sleeveless top, very baggy navy shorts, and long brown hair tied back)
Which reminds me, surely all of the Radio Worcestershire team are going to do the Beacon Race on 8th October? You are welcome to join us on training runs.
The Hamsters will certainly be putting in an appearance, before descending to wild stag (well, Barkles anyway ;o)) country for a bit of a duathomalononon...
Hurrah, it's Greeny. You may remember him from such races as the Sodbury Slog...
What? Wickett did the Slog..? who is this WIckett? Crash, that is wonderful. I am apparently doing it too.... in a strugglesome walksome stylee. But we are doing some training runs - come join us!
Yes wickett, if you look at it I have just admitted as such.
It is indeed a laugh.... there are pics from last year on RichK's site (I seem to have looked temporarily hideous on the day tho.. and following fashion guru greeny's striped snout look was obv not a good lone for me!!)
Sign up for the list when we get one, and come for food!
I am attemptin to slog again this year - missed it (not the food though!) last year because of a horrid chesty thing! But I am sooooo not ready for it - Minkey said he's actually going to do it with a tea tray this year!

Jethro, B et al, Please feel free to carry on with your porn film preperations now, I respect the respectful interlude x
Will spare a thought for her on friday, and hope she can inspire England to a similarly impressive innings.
<<Brief moment's silence for Vera and the England team>>
Now then, about this live porn-cast Jethro...
[kindest thoughts to you LDB - very sorry to hear your news]
Outsider?
Welcome to Radio Worcestershire
Wickett he is a most welcome and worthy guest from our neighbouring welsh lands
Thankyou Wickett and Greeny. If the whole team could get a 97 not out... would be very good indeed.
Awww, thank you my lovely furry friend!
And I did catch your fleeting visit on the Cardiff marathon thread!

(Not tuned into this local radio speak yet)
(one is a member of one these days, you know!)
Actually it's the day before Cardiff half, so I'll be out on the lash, mixing it with the finest Wales has to offer. Brains SA!!

Greeny, meet wickett (who seems ok so far...)

With posh bird Caroline too?
[slurp]
Erm I don;t think anyone has dared start a thread yet... but I certainly intend to.. if you will of course!! Go Greeny!
It is on 13th Nov.
TD started a thread on it a couple of months ago, I'll have a look for it.
Now then, what is this Slog of which you speak? When is it? Is it like the Suicide Six (never miss that one)?
More like a suicide 8.
And its wonderful. Involves lots of mud and water and eeks of joy. Big tuck up afterwards too. It is about 8.5 country miles (ie a bit more)
8 (actually 9...) miles of ups, downs, wading through streams, getting filthy dirty, it's fab )
Last year, a couple of runners nearly got taken out by a crazed deer (no, not Barkles, but 'tis true, LDB was there...)
(actually, I know he did - and you posted on it badger!!)
So 13 Nov, Sodbury Slog; 20 Nov, Suicide Six. That would make me really popular at home.
So yeah, sounds a laugh.
