Welsh Alex its nice to see that you're embracing 19th century technology
But er never mind the smart arse response - Why use chips if you don't use the technolgy that goes with them? It sort o defeats the object.
I forgot to press my stopwatch and thought well never mind I've got chip timing and these days even in Mid Wales the results will be up pretty quick. How wrong I was.
You think I might want to start ? Chip or watch timing, let's fight about it, outside now !
Anyway, and more seriously, I do actually think it is a very poor show that the chip-related results are not up as this is some of what we paid for when we entered. You are right when you say that many people rely on it. Moreover, my Watch did not tell me what position I finished in. So, I too eagerly await the results.
Two race results that I am waiting for to add to my website www.dk10k.co.uk are the bloody train, and the Lakeland Fell Race also from last week. What have they in common, both run by non running clubs. They don't have the same beliefs as us runners. The Lakeland Fell Race has on 75 runners, and still no results after one week. If as someone states, the results are done, and just waiting for their Website manager to load them, then I think it's a disgrace. Why can't they hand them to UKRESULTS ? John will do the Wolverhampton Marathon Results next week, and you can guarentee them being on the website within 24 hours. As a race director myself, and having handled results for the Wheaton Aston 10k and the Suicide 6 on the same day, I can't believe what is happening. I have always had the opinion that results are only interesting within a week of the race, after that we move on to the next race.
I actually know my time and place, I got them off a sheet pinned up on a board in the marquee, but I want to know the stats, number of starters, number who beat the train etc.
The Results are up on the race the train site!!! But if you clik on the 2006 results you still get 2005. So will we ever know what the results are??????? Can someone else look at the site and tell me if im doing somthing wrong.
yes but in true Race the train website style the date is incorrect!!! Unless they are running the event on a Monday - i would predict they actually mean August 18th!!!
Also note that although they have chip times and gun times - they have ordered the finishers by gun time - so what was the bleeding point of the chips!!!!
You have to go by gun times otherwise you might not have the first man crossing the line declared the winner. Chips are ok if you want an individual time say in London when you might be so far back from the line, but 95% of races you don't need chips. Whose bothered if it takes you a minute to get over the line.

I used an amazingly cunning device which I strapped to my wrist to get my result early. Begins with W, it's on the tip of my tongue .....

I think the request for divine intervention may well be our only option.
Mr Happy which 1/4 of you is Welsh?

To be honest, 7 days and no results? That's digusting if that's still the same case?

if they posted the results on the web, no-one would pay the extra to get them in the post!
...However if we all now send Tywyn rotary club a postal order for 40 welsh shillings???
To be honest, I agree with Brian; time to move on, life's too short.
Moving on..............
Chris Marshall 69th 1:45:43 and ahead of the train.
Over and out.
I downloaded the entire site just to see if there was a wrong link but the 2006 results are not there (As I write anyway)
"Race Results for 2006 will soon be available online ...",
is that a Tywyn soon? 4 weeks.
Glad to see the chip time agreed with my watch to the second.
See it was worth waiting for.
