yup, I think so anyway - one of things where to get it to do most things you want is v simple. If you want to program in complicated workouts, you'll need to read the manual or look up the Garmin website, which has a lot of how-to's on it.
bubble bath time now, followed by icing, followed by steak. this is the life...sadly tomorrow I have to do some work :-(
tell you what though, I didnt think about where I was running in london as far as taking corners wide and swerving and dodging etc, tried to keep corners tight and not dodge in dublin, wonder if it really made all that difference?
Yep ... my Garmin 305 clocked my distance on Monday at 26.64 miles and it is usually very accurate. I'm presuming it's easy enough to clock up an extra quarter mile over 26.2 by taking a poorish race line. Bit annoying though that everytime my Garmin said you've done x miles I knew I hadn't cos I could see the mile mark another 300 yards away!!!
I am feeling worst than i was, have been sent home from work - will be missing my the court case tomorrow, the dr is doing further blood tests to see if I have recovered from the dyhydration but thinks im still suffering from concussion and that is why i feel so rough
but when i was asked whether I would do another marathon today i said " Hell yes!"
Most of the time I just switch my Garmin 301 on and run. But it does keep an extensive record of every run I've done - the calories burned (Exaggerated), the miles run, the average page, my heart rate.
Its best when you compare a race a year later and you've made a huge improvement.
my folks gave me a venison steak to cook. decided to invent a saucefrom what was in cupboards. discovered that reducing chinese wine with raspberry jam and cumin seeds is YUMMY!!!! sounds so wrong, tastes so right.
tomorrow I'm in a primary school demonstrating face painting and talking about chinese opera. much scarier than the marathon....feel really nervous!
On the subject of how many marathons you should do I'm doing 4 this year which is the most I've ever done and 3 of them are in consecutive months. I didn't train excessively after the torturous heat of Nottingham in Sept and was delighted with my 3.44 PB in Dublin
Off to Benidorm in 3 weeks and hope same approach pays off. Less practice and more races is working for me at the moment but may only go the full distance twice next year. Cork looks interesting. Its the inaugral event AND I got a full bag of sweets from the attractive girl at the Expo !
...just a wee survey...where do you keep your medals...I keep mine on my desk/workstation and they jingle when I type on my laptop!:o)
MrGFB keeps his around the neck of a full scale skeleton in his clinic room (which also wear his horns from the Mooathon!!...hopefully no kids are scared!!)
hanging from the handle of a velux window - there are only seven of them (so far...) 2 10ks, 4 halfs, 1 marathon (yay!)
HH's seem to sprout from every available handle / light fitting .... make a nice clinky wind chime sound when the windows are open.
re Garmin, I've got the 301 and am very happy. 301, 205, 305 can all download very easily onto PC via USB thingie, and can upload programs onto it. think the 201 has a serial connection, so a bit more of a hassle...?
301, 305 have HRM....think the HR belt is a bit different on them, but what difference that makes I dunno...
I ran Dublin last year for Cancer Research in memory of my mother in law. jnr Ms A was 2 when MinL passed away so won't remember her. Because of that I made sure that she got the medal.
Which of course meant that Jnr A had to get the Paris medal, Jnr Ms A then got Longford and Jnr A this one. As a result we now have a very athletic looking collection of teddy bears and soft toys!
Late night for me. I have major ructions with my biggest client (petty internal politics that I am being dragged into - exactly why I went solo in teh first place). Trouble is that in these cases it's pretty easy for the outside contractor to be the one left carrying the can and there is a fairly hefty five figure sum riding on one project that has gone a bit Pete Tong. That means I need to be nice to them all and if the man wants a long and detailed report on about a dozen projects ranging back over three years by 9am then thats what he gets...

OK, the Garmin isn't heavy BUT...is it easy to use?

...call for the men in white coats!!!
Glad to see your experience hasn't put you off Kay

Tonight I cooked the pasta/chicken/parmasan cheese combo in the RW mag...it's really tasty (but I added chilli too being an addict!)
Okey dokey now that I'm convinced on the Garmin front...tell me which number to buy!

not tempted to dangle the next one from the mirror of the yup-mobile?
Actually the extra weight might cause teh mirror to break off or the roof to collapse - the old lady is over 30 after all you know!
(And I am not a softie, I'm rock hard me)
sleep well all.
Tonight I was a bit fidgety - I think I need to exercise!
my medals are all in a box under my desk
