I dont think you can speak to them. Ive looked on thier websire and cant see any contact numbers. I hate that. Its unlikley that they have any instock as they havent been made available my the manufacture as yet.
No I don't think they were lying. I spoke to Garmin yesterday who informed me that do not have a definite date (as per the post above from SportTek) but anticipate that the new Forerunners will be arriving in the next 7-10 days - I can only go the information I am given.
Production of the Forerunners has been delayed due to the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Wiggle have had a lot of orders from myself in the past, and I've always been very happy with their service despite not being able to contact them by telephone. I ordered the 305 from them in January when they were selling it for £263, and they've since dropped the price on my order to £234.
I think we must all just be patient. As with the 301 last year, Garmin's the bottleneck.
Must admit, do think Wiggle are a tad naughty regarding this (and I have also used them with no complaint before). Saw the £234 price yesterday, and ordered one. Saw nothing on website about not in stock, delays etc. Have now been told they are still waiting to get them from their supplier......
I'm not that bothered about waiting for reviews. I just want to see a picture of it on a human female wrist to prove to me that the new design will not be too bulky for thin wrists. I fear a large gap between wrist & Forerunner where the strap begins.
...in fact, from the link at top right of this page: "Beginning in spring 2006, Garmin will offer a Mac version of its popular Training Center software. Used with Garmin’s line of Forerunner and Edge series of fitness products..."
quimby, i have quite skinny wrists myself, for instance I can wear my Polar on the second hole in, though normally use the third. I don't recall having a problem wearing the 305 when I demo'd it a couple of weeks ago so I'd hope it's ok for you. It did look enormous though! Despite what people are thinking it didn't really feel much less bulky than the 301.
Chaos, thanks for your comments. I have a 201 and find the shape of it is OK for my wrist. OK, it's big, but it's big laterally, not around the wrist. Just checked my Polar, on a bare wrist it's on the 2nd hole, but would normally wear it a hole further out on top of a sleeve. I think I'm going to order a 205 (can't get on with the Garmin chest strap for HRM).
Oops, ordered one. ;-) Needed to upgrade anyway - getting a new laptop soon which won't have a serial port, and can't be bothered fannying around with serial to USB converters. And there was a Chrimble bonus burning a hole in my pocket. But I don't really need an excuse on this thread, do I?
i have overtime incoming at the end of next week... which might just mean i can swing it without the wife noticing... although i may have to buy her a sat nav to distract her at the crucial moment.
Garmin are currently building the 305's and 205's in the Far East and they are expected to ship the first batch to the UK sometime in the next 7-10 days. Garmin have put a hold on the building of the 201/301's to concentrate on the new range (that is why the 201/301's have been sold out everywhere for so long).

205 is £180.
I think they might just have a deal!
This looks good - but the market seems really competitive...is there room for any more reductions??

Thank you for your pre-order and patience.
Just to keep you informed, I have today spoken with Garmin who have, as yet, not received a definite arrival date for the Forerunner 205/305.
When we receive any information we will obviously keep you informed.

My info is that Garmin are still saying 'within the next two weeks' - not sure where March has come from?.......
Do you think they were lying to you based on the above email?
No I don't think they were lying. I spoke to Garmin yesterday who informed me that do not have a definite date (
Lets try again.......

As well as getting my hands on one though , I really want to hear a review from a runner, rather than just reading marketing junk from Garmin.
Does anyone know if they will be Mac compatible when they lauch or is it something that will happen later on?
There is a marketing term for our kind of folk but I'm not in that field so can't remember it, but basically, we're the sort of people who "must have"
I could say that if the sleeve of your mac is quite narrow it might not fit over the 305 as it looks quite bulky, but that would be silly.
I believe I read something somewhere that claimed it was Mac compatible. (I'm not a Mac user though)

cheers
i truly love my 301.
(and she _does_ want a sat nav.. whether either of us needs it or not is another matter)
Going to hide in a corner now LOL
....just to keep you all in the picture
I'm still debating the 205 or 305 thing. Is it worth the extra cash... hmmm...
