I haven't run since Sunday, simply because I couldn't be @rsed. Dunno why. I wasn't like this when I ran FLM. I'll try to get out for 3-4 miles today though as it's so nice and sunny.
As I am beginning to realise that I have a marathon to do this Sunday on virtually no training, I thought I might as well start getting prepared and enthusiastic.
I have found my number - 210. Shout some encouragement to me as you all pass!
Don't know why I have lost interest in my running - I used to love it! I can only assume its because I am just to busy with family, work and other commitments, although I know thats no excuse. Still reading all your posts is making me feel better and I am looking forward to Sunday (although very nervous).
i would run if i was you. sounds like you've had plenty of training before and you'll be well rested now. Im going and i missed 4 of the crucial weeks of training. Altho my time will be much slower than yours, we'll both have PBs whatever happens as we're both marathon newbies
There is an old boy about 5 & 21 miles who usually brings out a bottle wiskey his speakers on full bung and a bit of cardboard with the football scores.
ff - I don't know, but I would just think it strange. I know if you go to a horsey event and you see a horse with green ribbon around the top of his tail - that means Novice and may kick!
ff - well I won't stand next to you on the start line in case you get over excited and kick out. You'll be way ahead of me in the race so I'll be safe then...lol
I asked this before and nobody replied....did anyone else get a phone call from Premier Travel Inn saying they were looking forward to seeing you on Saturday?

Ok.
Still not decided whether to run. A marathon newbie.
The problem is this: due to illness I have run about three times in three weeks.
I tried seven miles the other night and was comfortable lumg wise, but a little sore.
I had been training well untill the haitus and had posted good half mara times )1.36, 1.34).
Should I run?
Any advice?
Thankee.
Banavie sounds good - where abouts will you be? Mr N is originally from Corpach, so will know where you mean.
Shades - I'll see you there - can you assemble the forumites for a meeting? ;o)
I would run if I were you.
You've done the bulk of the training and atleast 3 weeks off means you'll be well rested ;-)
Your residual fitness and adrenalin on the day will carry you through.
Davie, I'll be setting off from Glasgow at 10am on Saturday so I'll keep an eye out for you. Where am I likely to pass you?
That's what I hoped you might say
)
Looking forward to coming to Fort William though.
No green ribbon for me.
