Blisters - pop over to Copenhagen then (May 21)! We can put you up for the night (as long as that cold is gone) and you can join me, Trinity, RichK, bo-bo, Steady, AC plus better halves (where applicable) for the post race barbie too :-)
Morning everyone, lovely & sunny here in Devon, just been out watering my plants as it looks like being hot soon.
What: Rest Why: Great West Run tomorow Last hard: 12 days
GWR 2002 was my first road race & the event that got me into running. New course tomorrow, still looks quite lumpy, not sure if it's harder or easier than the old course. I'll soon find out!
Morning folks, A quick back-at-ya to nrg-b, Speedie, Pammie, debbo, 200minutes and David Fagan, and a big hug to the rest of you. Hope Paul and Jo are doing well.
What: another easy 4-5 miles. Why: legs still feeling tight, but now hamstrings feel tighter than adductors - that's a good thing right? Last hard: Boston 12 days ago
Looking forward to getting the training back to normal. 22 days to the Isle of Wight marathon.
Woo hoo! I actually went for a run this morning :-) First time in nearly two weeks. Calf still hurts a bit, but a 3 mile plod will hopefully do more good than harm.
Have a nice holiday Cath. Ms FAB and I have spent our last two hols in the lakes, and are going back this summer for more. Lovely place. Lots of nice routes to run, too!
Cath - have a great holiday. Good running in that area!
What: tri club swim, then hopefully a run, but my legs are not feeling good - don't know if they are just sore or are injured (various spots - quad, calf, hamstring...) Why: IM training Last hard: saturday Last rest: yesterday - I didn't do my bike ride as legs sore and thought they should have a rest
FAB - good to hear you're back running - wishing you heaps of good health for your next marathon.
What: BPTT 5km - just under 21 minutes so another 5 seconds off the PB - 4th PB in 4 weeks... just 60 more seconds to go - should be there by October? Why: It's Saturday and it's sunny (although it was really chilly in shorts and vest at the end of the run) Lyrics: Nope
Morning all, 6-mile run yesterday afernoon, wearing my new HR monitor acquired from ebay! Quiet intresting what my HR was doing during the run! comfy though in the end, running around 6:20mm pace.
What: pm: 5.25mile steady pace running, using HR Montitor to keep within 60-70%mhr for run.
Why: Easing down for mondays 10k, aerobic endurance and 10k plan.
good luck to the weekend racers; rory, 200m and others. see holly is back already - no stopping you and another pb! well run. i think you are going the sergei bubka route?
fab day for running, sunny but refreshing breeze. got out early while no one about and really enjoyed it
hope everyone has a great bank holiday weekend and have a great holiday cath
speedie - missed you news on the thread yesterday - sorry to hear it now though.
First run since FLM today. Did 5.5 miles. Couldn't bring myself to completely leave the Garmin behind and have no record of the run, but did manage to avoid the temptation to look at it all the way round. Just ran at a comfortable pace without worrying about what that pace actually was. Quite pleased to get home and discover it was 8:05 on average - that's quite quick for me.
The only fly in the ointment is that my ankle clearly is not recovered from last Sunday. It was OK when running, but felt a bit stiff. Now I'm back, it feels quite sore. Any ideas/suggestions welcome. It's on the inside of my left foot underneath the ankle bone.
