Yes, I am! Thanks for that GD, I had a look at reviews for the brand, do you remember which model you saw? I looked at reviews, and there are 2 possibilities which are the 785SHB Modo Mini, which extends I think to 114cm, and the 785B, which extends to 150cm. Depending on where I looked, both cost around £39.
Hey a photo forum! I'm better at that than at running!
Moomoo did you get an answer last month about cheap photo software? I use photoshop elements 2 which came free with my canon 300D camera. It's the cheaper version of photoshop, you can buy it for about £50. I can get very good results out of it, belong to a camera club and get stuff into our annual exhibition using it. Ask around friends, especially those with printers or digital SLRs, someone might be able to give you a copy they're not using.
G's dad, like the pics, just about got away with them on work computer!
I got a canon 400d when i moved to NZ last december. I mostly just use a 50mm f1.8 lens but have my eye on telephoto zoom. Here's a link to my favourite few shots so far.
Great pics, M and zmhs!:)) Thanks for the info about the software, zmhs. That's what I heard from another friend.
I am currently in sunny Spain, have taken tons of pics. I opened a flickr account some time ago, I will be switching to that because I like the display better than on fotopicnet, which I use now!
Hello all! I got back yesterday, took hundreds of photos in Spain. I'll provide a link when I can.
GD- great pictures! What is your opinion on watermarking photos posted online- is it worth the bother? I still haven't got a tripod, but I will look at a few soon. Will you be photographing at Mudchute at all?
Wouldn't bother with water marks. If you just use small files even if someone pinches them all they can get is a really small picture. I would take it as a compliment if someone nicked a photo which is 72dpi and only an inch across!
GD- great! I will look forward to the customary good quality pics, then. About watermarks- richk told me he just types it directly on the pic with one of the usual pic editing programs.
zmhs- I wouldn't use it for every single pic, but I will be setting up a website with higher resolution pics, so I'll just mark the ones I'm paranoid about.

If you can, have a look at them before you buy but I'd go for the taller one if I were you
You never know when an extra inch will help:-0
I also had a look at a Velbon D600 very nice with a fluid head
Not so good for taking to Spain as it's a lot heavier than the Modo
I hope you like them, all comments much appreciated.
