I'm not a big drinker anyway so I've not even had the opportunity to drink yet. The only thing I have missed is the odd Baileys in front of the TV.
I have possibly have guests staying in the next week or two with whom I should like to have a drink. Though I'm not sure if they're even coming in all fairness.
I have a big birthday do on Jan 13th, I did actually say that was my 'day off' as it is am important do but I'm starting to think I could manage to go without then to be honest. I'm just a bit concerned my friend will be offended if I don't have a drink with him on his birthday.
I know that no one will die but if you say you're going to do something, it's a bit lame to then say 'apart from such and such'. You've either got on the waggon for a month or you haven't surely? If you take time off for big parties then you're not abstaining (sp) as you said you would?
Ironically, the guy who is having the birthday do does what we are doing in Feb instead of Jan because it's his birthday. Maybe I should purposely climb off and do it then instead as he is important to me.
Well, no one is going to die if someone from this thread descends from the wagon and then climbs back on. I guess some of us are more strict about adhering to the concept than others.
You do what you think is right for you, Mouse. I'm going to try and not drink at all this month - I've managed it every January for the past several years, so no reason why I can't.
What is right for me is to stay on the wagon (that I clearly need to learn how to spell!) and that my friend understands. I've said I'm going to do it now and that is it.
Which is how I got into running!
LOL!
PS My vehemence about this is for me by the way and what other people chose to do re climbing off and on is their own choice, it's my perspective and I wouldn't dream of forcing myself and my ideas on others.
Having a glass of pepsi max thanks ST. Yep it certainly is and its good as well as I suppose checking in means that you are not having a beer (my particular inebriant of choice!!).
Can I recommend Bottlegreen Elderflower Cordial and Bottlegreen Ginger and Lemongrass Cordial with soda water as a yummy treat. Both are available from the supermarket.
Sorry but I downed Magners last night. Guinness, and somat else that I cannae remember. Tonight I have already demolished half a bottle of rum. With coke (and no, Dude it isn't SAILOR JERRY)

Just a little disclaimer there!
Just going to get a glass of lovely cold water :-D My innards are going to be soooo clean.
Still all 4 wheels on my wagon too.
On here to escape celebrity related unreality/singing.
No run mind just stayed in.
Can I get you a glass of water?
I'm on the G&T -G but its just not hitting the spot.
Feels surprisingly good not drinking actually.
Thank you, Mouseicles!
;op
mentioned it on another thread.
I think I'll join you for the rest of the month.
Shouldn't be a big deal for me, as I don't drink often
but I tend to drink too much when I do drink.
And there are a lot of wine "leftovers" around the house from Xmas.
Fcukit... what the hell!!!!!!!!
ST - 9 miles outside Glasgow
Well done, SH - good feeling, yes?
My mum still lives in Glasgow, in Kelvinside, so I get up there a few times a year to see her and remind myself of my roots :-)
